Not a brawler anymore but I think I can help you anywy.
There are several melee weapons that do energy damage, Vibro knuckles and Stun Baton for example. Also a lot of weapons are only level certed so as a tkm you can use several swords/pikes too but with a little less speed and accuracy.
Right now the script that displays mob resists is broken but it does seems to be very little difference. Your damage type will at most matter 10-20% more/less damage. If mob resists are anything like player made armor it will max out at 60%.

(disclaimer: i haven't played SWG since december of 2004
)
hey melee'ers,
there are a few questions i have about melee damage types. first of all, i understand that all melee weapons do kinetic damage, with some doing a small amount of elemental, correct? so, is this elemental type of damage at all significant?
another thing is that when i started playing, i was a TKM/Master Doctor, but i switched to MasterSwords/Doctor out of frustration with the sole damage type of TKM. is there still an abundance of PVEcontent with 100% kinetic resists?
which melee profession has the most varied type of damage, and is it even a factor in this'new'versionof SWG?
thank you for your assistance in this matter.
