Hi,

I am starting at a new wookie character with no money, today I managed to get 10 xp into level 3 unarmed. I see a lot of advice about getting vibro-knuckles, but I don't have the qualification to use them yet.

I saw another wookie with armour and asked him how much it cost, he said 350k, considering that I only have 6k right now, I am a little short, so I won't be using armour.

Is there a way to level relatively quickly as a wookie and not using buffs?

Thanks,

You can grind without buffs and make some cash at the same time just doing missions save up your cash buy a vk keep doing missions till you save up enough cash or maybe you'll bea lucky noob and a nice guild will come along and lend you 50k to get started. But lets not get carried away. Just keep doing missions and probally buying armor in pieces might do you some good.

You won't qualify for the Vk's but you will still want to use them as they will speed up your attack alot. Speed sliced would be perfered, and since most want damage sliced, you may be able to find them for sale for cheap on the bazaar. Going to not be quick with out buffs and, or armor. I would do dire cats and crazed durnis on correllia.

Hi,

I am a Wookie brawler. What I did was go to Anchorhead on Tatooine and joined a Squill hunting group. The xp comes in quickly and will go up the higher you get into unarmed. I started out getting 100-200 xp per kill and now get anywhere from 1k-3k as a 0-0-1-0 TKA. The key here is quantity. All the squills and the lairs add up. Money will be decent, usually about 1k per lair if the group is not enormous. It's important to not engage the squills until another higher level melee character does.

As far as being a burden on the group, I never had a problem being a lowbie. Most people were happy to get their Apprentice XP and medic xp. May not always be the case, but I never experienced any problems with getting a Squill group. You will basically function as a dot until you get Novice TKA. Just in case you were wondering.

Get vibroknucklesas soon asyou can afford them. You won't hit very hard unless doing specials or while beserk, but you will notice a huge speed difference, especially if the knuckles are sliced. The knuckles I have now cost me 40k. The ceremonial chestplate I have cost 10k. Both were financed from squill hunts.

It's a long grind, but once you hit Novice TKA, you will notice a huge difference in damage output.

Not the fastest way, but is a lot of fun. This method is very, very good if you need scout xp. You can level a whole branch of scout on a squill hunt in no time.

Just a suggestion from a fellow Wookie.

For Quenkers on Dantooine when you are trying to get novice TKyou don't need buffs but they help out a lot. Quenkers do not DB which is good so after you get incapped twice just wait 10 mins and get healed back up. VKs help out tons so buy one as soon as possible that is fast. Squills are also good on Tatooine like Wasp911 said.

Thanks for the all the info :-)

I will head out and run a bunch of lower level missions and pick up the virbo knuckles. Then I will head to dant and try out some quenckers - it's not like anything is going to go down in value if I die :-)

Thanks again

I am a Wookie Novice TKA, and getting through the first 3 unarmed was easy, and earned me enough money for a VK + some buffs. Then I was fortunate enough to meet some nice friends who took me through unarmed 4 by doing some 12k missions. I don't remember what it was that we hunted but they looked like pickets and gave me 3500 xp per kill. The guys who were with me were nice enough to always leave one for me to kill all by myself while they healed me. Then to get novice TKA I met another cool guy who took me to Yavin4 and we hunted whatever we could find around the Labor Outpost. The thing is Yavin 4 creatures were mostly easy for me to solo even with no heals, but you have to keep in mind that you should not engage creatures that have alot of kinetic resist. There are a few mobs on Yavin that have very little kinetic resist, so if you can get them one-on-one you can easily solo them. Remember that intimidate is your friend, so is beserk.

You're gonna want to pick up some vibro knucklers with speed somewhere around 1.5-2.2. Though you are not qualified to use them, the damage reduction is more than made up for by the speed increase plus berserk. Furthermore, to level to tkn quickly and beyond, you're gonna need to buff and hit up quenkers on dantooine for unarmed 4. hope it works out for you.

Not using buffs and quickly do not go together in the same sentence. Don't expect to do the Unarmed grind quickly without buffs.

However I managed it - Unarmed 4 and halfway through TKN in 6 hours (no armour, no buffs, no VK) I went for Diseased Bobcats on Tatooine. But as the name states, they are diseased, and although they only tick for 1 wound, afte a long hunt session it can build up so you may well be making some visits to the medical centre quite often.

But of course the fastest is as said ^^ Hit the Quenkers on Dantooine. Simple rule:

- Quenkers on Dantooine until Novice Elite

- Savage Quenkers on Dantooine until Master
