Ive noticed one thing, when I do missions like lvl 24, I've noticedI take less damage going face to face with the critters than I do when Im useing my light canon and fireing at them. My question is this can it be that up close and personal, gives you an advantage where as staying 30 m away gives you a penalty of some sort ?

Im a BH 0-0-1-1, and a brawler 3-0-0-0

I wear the following: Comp Armour 80% on the chest, the pants and the boots all the same, and nothing else as I cant wear it even with it slized.

So Im basically wondering of some of u have experienced the same thing or not ?

You can wear all your armor if it isn't sliced, just get buffs and keep the armor on after the buffs run out, that is what I do.

For some creatures, like dragonets, they might just do better damage ranged. But if you mean that you are doingspecails, it is because your HAM is less than usual, which raises the cost for specials.

Ive yet to figure out how ppl can keep their comp on after a buff. I mean the encumbrance Ive felt last time were so hard thatI didnt think that keeping it on were a good idea, as the auto heal of the Ham went all to hell, makeing me even more vulnerable, but I guess ill give it a try next time I get some brandy

All melee attacks vs someone equiped with a rifle (special heavy weapons are classified as rifles for this) have a bonus to hit and damage. One of the points that drives commandos, with their unarmed prereq. and short range specials, crazy.

Don't use specials and you will be fine.

Are you switching weapons when you are close range fighting? You might be getting some unarmed deffensive abililites comming into play here.

Also Might I add. I use an nice set of Ubese 70% kinetic armor for my general hunts. And switch to my Comp 80% stuff when I am on POI's or high end hunts. I feel the cost to protection radio makes Ubese is the clear winner. I don't even need a Buff to put a full set of Ubese on. Sure its ugly looking but keeps my butt safe and warm On my server a 70% Ubese set runs about 90k - 120k. And a 80% comp can go from 3 to 10 times that much. And the 10% diffrence in protection is small. Granted this is all with PvE in mind. PvP you want the best of everything you can afford to get.
