Thread: Wookieeroar vs. Intimidate

I asked this in Core Systems, but I sense there will be lots of uneducated guesses resulting from that. So.

Before becoming a Brawler, I used /wookieeroar when I needed to. What's the difference in intimidating and wookieeroaring, if anything?

Intimidate2 is longer lasting, andI belive Wookieroar is on an hour timer. You can stack Intimidate as well (time-wise).

Yikes, no no nononono. Wookieeroar is on a 5-minute timer. Strange enough that they can only do it once every five minutes, but it's certainly not *that* bad.

Thanks.

I believe /wokieeroar is a cone intmidate1...intimidate 2 lasts longer.

i played with wookiee roar on a new character one day just cause i was curious, and found it to be as inaccurate as intimidate is at the novice brawler level. It would be interesting to see if intimidate clothing would increase its success rate, but if not due to the timer, it's just a wasted hot-key.

hey there, i posted in the core systems thread, but figured i'd repeat some stuff for the folks who are interested here...

/wookieeroar is a conical intimidation (unsure on the duration of the effect, but it ismost likelyon par with /intimidate1 - as oberon suggests)... it can only be used once every 5 minutes... and it provides a small mind buff, usually +20, but i've had as high as +80 - i believe this is tied in with the number of opponents you successfully "roar"... also, it seems to work outside of the combat queue, activating immediately...

as for picking up brawler for intimidate, i'd stick with /wookieeroar on its own... it worked very well for me as a rifleman, the only downside being the 5 minute wait between roars - if you have a macro made for it though (i've found the in-game "button" to be less than reliable for some reason) you'll find the time really flies and you'll use it more than you expect..

lordsaibot, i'm fairly certain that skill bonuses to intimidate don't increase the chance of /wookieeroar sticking, as wookiees have a seperate skill mod for it... there is also a drink (jaar) that increases the potency of your next /wookieeroar, but i've never actually tested it... on the bright side, roars do have a tendancy to stick more often than /intimidate (at least at the novice brawler level)...

wookie roar is awsome, when you can actually use it(once an hour sux) works much better than intimidate because it gets a heck of a lot more mobs.

Zabrak, um, you must have rouble reading. Wookie roar is on a 5 minute timer not an hour timer. Meaning you can do it once every 5 minutes, that's 12 times in an hour.

He's probably getting confused with the Zabrak skill Equilibrium, which is on a 1 hour timer

Trogdor can kill anyone he wants! Trogdor burninates peasants ALL the time and doesn't even think twice about it. If you don't believe that Trogdor has REAL Ultimate Power you better get a life right now or he will burninate you!!! It's an easy choice, if you ask me.

Is it possible to stack intimidate with wookieroar? and if it is does the damage of the opponent gets reduced further/do they get even lower secondary defense?

(I'm a lizard so I dunno much about Wookie specials)

you know... i don't know... i'd really like to test this out...

they function seperately, so the /wookieeroar duration does not increase the amount of time intimidated... ie. you can do them seperately and you'll see a -roar- and -intimidate- at different times, so it isn't like reapplying /intimidate to get a longer duration... but i'd never thought of applying them both at the same time like that, so i don't know if they stack in a way that would further decrease your opponents damage...

it's definitely worth testing, now all i need is a subject with a low damage range... thanks for bringing this up, i don't think i would have thought of it...
