Thread: Melee Template
RobbPilot,
With those prof choices, what have you set HAM bars to? Just curious, your choices look like a direction I am heading.
Master Brawler
1001 fencer (going to master it)
4443 medic (dropping as needed)
master artisan
novice merch
Now, I can lower my med skills and drop novice merch to get some SP back to finish master fencer.
With any remaining SP that I come up with, what would you suggest I add to my combat line?
Pistoleer = dodge
Rifle = melee/ranged def
TK = def acuity or meditate
...and I know there are a few more possibilities of skill lines that will stack for me without dropping my baton or sword.
Any suggestions?
if you want to duel, make your "master" profession tka, if pve make it swordman
my pve template is 4,3,0,4 tka / mbrawler / 4,4,2,0 fencer / 0,0,4,0 pikeman / master swordman
and its not like i couldnt duel some too, but not against tka's "no mitigation loss dm"
in pve its soooo much better than tka as the damage dealer, and yes ive been master tka
Master Brawler is a better investment than partial trees in other melee elite professions, in my opinion. You may not know but Warcry 1 and 2 stack which equates to a 30 second delay for you arithmatically challenged folks.
Lunge2 is also great in PvP and is one of my most used attacks.
PS: Don't believe thebs about melee classX easily owns melee class Y. The only so-called'truism' I've seen bear fruit is that a skilled player will emerge victorious more often than a less skilled one.

why do you have scout? everything but that makes sence.
you dont have it for the terain negotion.
i would say drop scout and get more, eather slicing in smulger or def. in tka or ranged suport in marksmen.
Harvesting, pitching tents, and some, albeit limited creature knowledge.
I like to be self-sufficient, hence I can heal and harvest and camp.
I don't want to be a hyperuberkiller who can'tmake a campfire or put on a bandaid. I'm close mind you, but not quite there.
I dunno if all yours are for PvE or PvP, but for PvP, i have a FUTURE template that will be:
Master Brawler
Master Fencer
TKA 4/3/0/4
Pikeman 0/0/4/0
Medic 2/0/2/0
and with some points left

I've ended up with middle of the road stats, like 600-650-650 with the rest poured into secondaries to squeeze into composite. That means I can't spam a lot, but that's okay, since spamming will be somewhat of a no-no when the new combat changes go in. I have quick regen with my armor off and I don't really need the armor when I'm fencing (with CoB). I need the armor when gunfighting, and if I'm buffed I can still freely use specials. If not, I have to be smart and try to use the right tactics and weapons, but it is working well for me. The secret on both is trying not to get hit too much! LOL, easier said than done right?
Well, since I dont want to give up Master Artisan, it looks like my skill sets are going to be limited greatly.
Currently, I can be:
Master Artisan
Master Brawler
Master Fencer
2/0/2/0 Medic (to keep the firstaid to stop my bleeding)
Novice Merch (which I may drop to get 3/03/0 medic)
This would effectively use every single skill point I have and give me a decent combat ability with MB/MF combos.
I am not a holocron hunter, nor am I interested in FSCS, so my only changes would be sacrificing fencer for another line.
