Intimidate also takes away (or at least severly diminishes)the ability to dodge-block-counterattack. Between stun and intimidate, you should rarely miss your target.
Also, with its huge duration and ability re-apply at will, I think Intimidate2 does a better job at crowd control then Warcry2:
Warcry2: Reduces damage by 2/3rds for 30 seconds, cannot be reapplied before 30 second is up. Cannot be applied to your current combat target. Is a cone attack.
Intimidate2: Reduces damage by 1/2 for 75 seconds. Can be reapplied at-will, so there is never a gap in protection. Makes the target easier to hit by reducing/removing dodge-block-conterattacks. single target attack.
If you only use one, I think Intimidate2 is the winner, unless you are in a situation where you can take advantage of Warcry2s cone area of effect, or can positively stay on top of Warcry2 so that it is reapplied every 30-35 seconds.
Additionaly, since you would have to re-apply Warcry2 more than twice as often as Intimdate2, you'd be missing twice as many combat rounds. If you are trying to keep multiple creatures delayed with Warcry2, that can really add up.
Of course, you can always stack them.
(and I maybe incorrect about the 75 second duration, That's the number I have seen quoted before, but have never actually timed it)
To answer the posters question: Master Brawler is worth it for Heavey Swordsman. Besides the benefits Warcry2/Intimidate2/Lunge2, That extra +5 to weapon speed and accuracy can mean alot when wielding A power hammer.

I wholeheartedly disagree....
You can spend the points on something better.
You still have intimidate1 and lunge1 from novice brawler, and while they arent as good as 2, the extra points you save coulde be spent on something else, like medic, or if you have enough, a defensive line from another melee profession.
I'd rather have an extra +30 to melee/ranged def than wc2, lunge2, or intimidate2.

though not proven, the word on the street is that intimidate also decreases secondary defenses, which in my experience is true. Stun seems to lower melee/ranged defense, blind lowers accuracy, and warcry stops the target from fighting until hit. I pvp a lot and i try to keep my opponent blind, stunned, intimidated, dizzied, and bleeding throughout the fight.

Intimidate2 is vastly more useful than an extra 30 ranged/melee defense. In PVP, accuracy modifiers are so high that you will pretty much be hit by anyone who wants to hit you with COB being the only real defense you have. Intimidate 2 not only cuts your target's damage significantly, it makes them easier to hit. Lunge 2 is also amazingly useful, since landing it at the beginning of a fight (pvp or pve) can enable you to kill your enemy before they can get back up thanks to the damage modifiers.
