Thread: How I use Warcry2 post nerf
Pretty much everything that has been posted has explained the fix on warcry. However, I just want to add my 2 cents. heh.. I was Master Brawler prior to the patch and dropped before the patch came down. Not because of patch though, ran out of skills points to keep it. However, just because I ain't master doesn't mean I haven't noticed the down side to the fix of that particular move. Warcry of course was broke but in a way kind of helped lvl out some templates. Yes in a duel or PvP being delayed 10/20 secs sucked.. However, most that had any sense knew the only thing to do was run away till it came down (melee and ranged).. With the new setup the warcry has been dramatically reduced in its affectiveness.. You can still delay for 10/20 however after the first successful /attack on the opponent the delay is dropped.. After reading a few of these posts and hearing how fokes are saying Warcry is uselss.. I can feel your grief because I too share it with you.. But like Kyp stated warcry is in no way a useless move. The fix requires you to strategize your attack rather than just wailing away while it is delayed. So to utilize this move more effectively just test the following. In PvP if your opponent is ranged.. If available use warcry as intended and delay them from attacking you until you can catch up. Once you are close enough to attack the odds have been evened. As Kyp also stated if attacked by numerous mobs delay what you can. NPC's and creatures will single file if you kite them. So that increases your ability to delay the crowd instead of doing one at a time. PvP is a different story. If you are attacked by 2 or more.. Delay the one you aren't attacking. That will at least save you from some unwanted damage.
Like I stated in the beginning this little post has been covered more than likely time and time again and those of you who read this may very well know all or most of it. However, I posted this for the individuals that are either new to the game or new to the melee profession.

First off, let me just say that WC2 was not "nerfed." A nerf is taking a skill or object that is over powered and lowering/altering it's effectivness to be more inline with other skills in the game. WC2 wasn't nerfed because it was BROKEN...not overpowered. It didn't work as was intended...how it is now was what was intended. It has been fixed. Not nerfed.
No.... it was NERFED. Broken would of mean like you say it was not working as intended. Not true, it was working exactly as intended, it was the intention itself that the devs found flawed. Since you wanted to cut up the semantics of the issue.
Secondly, it is FAR from useless. In fact...I use it more now than I did before. The previous use for it with most people was as a way to delay an oppenent who was knocked down so you could spam your high damage moves with impunity and kill easily. It wasn't meant for this, it was meant as a means of "crowd control." A way for a melee combatant to deal with mutliple opponents in a situation where you are outnumbered.
More of your "spin" added. No it was not meant as a means of crowd control. That particular idea was noteven brought up by the devs until they announced the changes to the move. The fact is, that the move as it works today exists as a means of "crowd control". However in the past pre-nerf this idea of "crowd control" never existed as it pertained to this move.
As it is now its more effective now than ever before! Why? A dizzy knock down will pretty much put anyone down long enough for a master brawler/master tk/fencer/swords/pike to spam away and kill off the opponent. Warcry use was just over kill, you really didn't need it for that purpose. The dizzy effect keeps the target down long enough on its own.
As it is now it's a great way to handle multiple, high damage mobs. Let's use voritor lizards on dantooine for an example. It's not uncommon for me to solo 4-5 voritors, with no armor. Why? I can pause them all, take one out. Then move on to the next keeping the others off me...Crowd Control.
Another way I use it: I'm Imperial and I run a lot of large rebel base missions. As I'm a tk master/master brawler I need to be close to attack. So I'll use a warcry2 and charge in. After the first guy is dead, I'll turn and target the next. I have a macro setup so with one hot key I will /follow. /warcry2, /heal self, /pause 5, /unarmedunge2, /unarmedhit1, /unarmeddizzy1 - this basically with one click, will pause the next guy at 25m away I hafta run down, where normally he could pound away on me while I'm closing the distance and healing...instead he's left useless while I have plenty of time to heal.
After which my unarmedlunge2/dizzy will pretty much garuntee he's on his back and not getting up once I've closed the distance, and he's prime meat for me to unarmed3 until dead.
Again, this skill was not nerfed. You just hafta get your heads out of your asses and think!
Yes "think" up pretty little lies to make yourself feel better about the fact it was nerfed. Good or bad I will not dispute. You find it usefull more power to you. What I have issue with is the way youspin the truth, and lie about the how and why this change came about.
