There are several reasons to master it.
1. Lunge 2: better kd attacks than kd1. they use less HAM and have a range of 20m.
2. Intimidate 2: lasts a good long time. Incredible skill.
3. Toughness: Every bit of toughness helps.
4. Prestige: How many master brawlers have you seen? They are as rare as female trandoshans. Master brawler and people will be awed by your presence. Master anything else, and people don't care.

Eventhough it is not a prerequisite for any other profession unlike Master Marksman, MB is perfect for anyone wanting a serious all-melee combat setup. You get improved accuracy, speed, toughness, melee/ranged defenses, and CoB values for all 4 melee elites, plus lunge2 for all 4 melee classes, and intimidate2. Warcry used to be a huge advantage, but not so much anymore. There is a lot in that MB box, and if you are going to have multiple melee lines, it's a great addition.

Im only about half through TK and I have to say, between knockdown1 and lunge2, lunge2 works a lot better than kockdown1. Never used intimidate2, but warcry2 is good. Plus if you ever need appretice points, just stick on the "Master Brawler" tag and walk around the base planets and people will ask you to teach you things left and right.

master brawler has no use, except to satisfy another profession for us hologrinders.

lunge 2, warcry 2 and intimidate 2, plus the added mods for the elite professions. There is a purpose for Mastering Brawler besides those just trying to hologrind, THANK GOD that will be done soon, Everyone can actually get back to playing the game. Oh wait, nevermind, it will all be Jedi grinding after that

I agree with Isvurx! Was MFencer adn TKm before having it now I ahve and I'm not letting go! Intimidate 2 lasts foreever, lunge2 Rocks!!!!! Remeber you can use lunge1 for the first posture change and then lunge2 for the KD... that is two chances to put your enemy be it in PvE or PvP. I really like it, I'm now on the path to master pikeman and the extra speed really helps. According to all the calculators those +5 speed really jack you up.
Not necessary for the less-combat oriented, there I agree...

well lots of people have already answered, but really... the one overwhelming reason to get master brawler is intimidate2...
with even half decent armor.. intimidate2 makes you an unstoppable PvE tank... nightsister elders, the gorax, etc. will not be able to damage you enough to matter if you have buffs, ok armor, and intimidate2 in your skil list..
if you duel someone and do not use intimidate.. when the other person does.... it would be an amazing accomplishment if you win... because intimidate cuts damage levels in half....
(and if you really want to be cheap.... get a mind poison lance and a janta knife... hit them with poison and warcry2.... and just let them sit there for 20 seconds while the mind damage ticks away.. and they can't do a thing to you.... or if your getting damaged too much... warcry2 and take a rest.... heal... run... whatever....20 seconds is a lifetime in a duel.. with poisons.... but this is cheap... effective... but cheap

what everyone has said about intimidate2, warcry2, lunge2, and the toughness, speed, ect is all very correct. I would never have a melee template WITHOUT master brawler. I love it! I'm a Master Fencer/Master Swordsman/Master Brawler/4-3-0-4 tk and the master box of brawler improves me a ton. BTW, i love how my template proves the devs wrong from way back when they said that there would only be enough skillpoints for 3 and 1/2 professions... WOOT lol!

I'm going for pretty much the same template you have. Seems great for pve, any comments on the pvp side?

uhhhh, yeah. If you have good armor and good weapons, you're basically only vulnerable to high dmg ion rifles and dots.
