I used to be a Master BH and would not have left except for holocrons. Now working on brawler professsions. If you are smart master BH is extremely good in PvP. You have no defense, but can dish out alot of damage, even through armor. Most people are now Melee professions because of the defense stacking bonuses and the high damage in a short period of time..

if his friend has 1hand 3 in the brawler profession, then she has no cert to use the stun baton.
but no, if i can stay more than 20m from a melee profession, i can kite them to death. if they're not a defensive stacker, and they get within 16m, i can use my flamer specials on them.
but yeah, riflemen and combat medics are the flavors of the month right now for pvp.

I put this here as it seems brawler is the roort of all anyways.
The other day one of my guilds master Bounty Hunters redeemed mosy of her skills to go Fencer/Pistoleer
She said that a low level fencer had kicked her ass even with her 3 layers of Kinetic Composite Armor. She has lvl 3 1 handed combat and she wanted to show me by dueling me. I shot and shot at here and seemed to do no damage yet shen she hit me I sure saw damage. Is this the way the game is for PvP in that you have to be melee in order to win?
Something to note, Fencers have the Stun Baton which does Stun damage. All the kinetic composite in the world cant save her from that. Ultimately, you can PvP with whatever. Riflemen are a very popular PvP profession. Carbineers look like they might be in a much better situation tomorrow after they get their specials fixed. Switching to Fencer/Pistoleer the night before the nerf to defense stacking seems rather... ill informed?
