I just upped my mind and mind secondary stats, it helps out a lot, but I still die if I get hit in the head excessively, but it happens very rarely. Use a helmet with nice kinetic resists and you will take less damage. Also a good way to heal mind is to stim yourself to full health then use Equilibrium, that's what I do, but not everyone has equilibrium so...
