Thread: Changes to Berserk effect Berserk2?

i dont see why they are hitting melee fighters with nerf first


When we fight we have to get up to the target, stay withing a few meters and chase things around, take massive damage because things will start attacking you no matter what else it's target was, suffer the highest special move cost of any combat profession, and we have no ability to kite. When we run up to something and engage, it's either kill or be killed.

Just my two cents, but I fully expect berzerk 2 to be nerfed. Since it is merely a longer duration form of berzerk 1, rather than an augmentation to it. If I were to bet, I'd say 2:1 odds on nerf bat to berzerk 2. Do I think it is right? No, I like berzerk 2, and use it situationally. If it is just 75 points, then my swordsman will be reduced to a shadow of a TKA, without all the nice abilities. What is amusing is they are nerfing the totally wrong thing with this. Nerfing berzerk isweakening the gimpiest combat group in the game. ANY berzerk nerf should come after balancing issues have nerfed overpowered ranged classes with knockdown.

Intimidate 2 was a better skill than Berserk 2 to begin with.

Except for the fact you do a lot more damage???

Considering I've played Master of 2 Melees and 2 Ranged now.. plus both their starters... I'd say this isn't a fair change to 2, but definitely needed for 1.



Berserk1 is way too good, most see no reason to get Master Brawler (Cause they highly underestimate Intimidate, which is insanely good). Berserk1 will be fit as it is.. It should be a helpful starter, but that's it. Berserk2 should be a noticable booster (I'm taking 2x damage... **edit** I fight hits for 1-2k with that.. That's reaaaaal nice to always be one hit incapped if it turns off my pet onto me.. I **edit** well better hit hard as hell for sucha huge trade off)


Intimidate2 is very good, use it guys, it's underestimated.. I never used Warcry1 or 2..cause I never saw a major difference =P

Hmm, i think berserk 2 should be stronger than beserk 1. Right now i don't see the point of beserk 2. 20 seconds into a fight after you have berserked should be long enough for most occasions. As a melee fighter, your target should be near dead or you yourself are near death. 2 minutes without the ability to change your strategy from straight out beating is way too long.

This pisses me off. I can just see how the devs decided to handle the matter:


'Looks like we accidently gave thebrawlers a useful move. We'll have to make it pointless yet still eat up a lot of HAM, so that SWG lines up with our vision of melee fighters totally suck-ing.'


'Good work guys! We've managed to screw the melee professions again! High-five!'


Why are they destroying our most useful move? What the hell is their big idea when they give us move that take so much HAM costs when they aren't even more useful than the ranged specials? This is grossly annoying.

What we need, is the brawler corespondant to wake up, and Ask the Dev's if The changes in this upcoming BIG patch effects beserk2. AND if it does, we need a resposne from the devs, from there, we can create constructive cristicims on why Berserk2 should not be a 75pt dmg increase at its top of the tree.


So, i ask yee, Our Brawling Corespondant to wake up, and ask the dev's in a short email.
