Thread: How many pieces of armor should you use?

I, like you, am rarely close enough to civilization to get regular buffs. But I do wear a full set of ubese when fighting animals. I find that a little food more than makes up for the large HAM costs. Try these foods......Gruuvan Shaal (+400 strength, 38 min.), Scrimpi (+400 quickness, 38 minutes), and good old vasarian brandi X2 (+800 mind, focus, will, 38 min.). These all stack and give a nice buff for approximately 40 minutes. Also remember, that you don't need to spam your specials to win(especially against quenkers). The armor makes it so you take almost no damage, so time isn't as important.
Overall, I used armor all the time and found it to be much more useful than without. And like I said, I rarely was buffed, just took food and the occasional muon in emergencies. Though onceyou reach master, you might not use armoras much against normal animals, justthe big stuff.Once I hit blademaster, I found that armor wasn't that important unless I was fighting big game, you may find the same thing.
Thank you for the suggestions. Just because I'm cheap I think I'll try getting by with the chest piece and pants for now
. Maybe even cut back to the chest piece.
As the one poster saidI do believe that armor is quite powerful in the game but mainly because the amor that is used is mostly pretty high level stuff. The system of factories and mass production just makes it affordable to lower levels than was probably intended. It's a shame they made Bone Armor from the Artisan profession so poor against Kinetic. If it had even 40% Kinetic resists I'd proabably use a full set of that but, as it is, a couple of pieces of Ubese is giving me better protection.

I only use armor if I am buffed...
I couldnt go w/o buffs ![]()
I got all my Stats (Human) set to 400 and Mind 1100 / F 800 / WP 1100 and i stay Buffed
80%Comp/ Buffs ..There isnt much that can get to you
Back in the "old days" before mounts and vehicles (when we had to level up hill and use sticks for weapons), I would understand the concept that you are too far from town. I could even understand it, somewhat,if you were saying you can't afford buffs at 8 - 10K a pop. Buthop on a bike and you can be anywhere on a planet in 10 minutes or less. A shuttle ride or twoto Theed or Cornet or one of the other heavily populated cities, and you can get buffed and be back out with 2 - 3 hours of buffed and armored ubberness. And if you always leave yourself enough time to get back to a starport or to Coronet, Theed, or the nearest major city before you log out, you are ready to find a doc when you log back in the next time, cutting down your start up time.
Foods and spices only help so much. If you figure in the down times from spices or from sitting around healing and recovering after a fight, I am pretty sure you will find that the time used there can't be much worse than finding a Doc and getting a buff. And doing the latter will usually allow you to recover fast enough that you are usually fully healed by the time you get to the next mission. And being buffed will allow you to take on higher paying missions you otherwise would not be able to handle.
If price is a problem for you, then consider that 3 easy 3k missions, a couple of 5k missions, or one 10k mission easily pays for the buffs, and, being buffed, it does not take long to blow through them to recover the money.
I would rethink that side of my strategy.
