Hey everyone,

I'm currently working towards master brawler and master scout. I plan on going on towards Teras Kasi and Ranger. But if I do that I'll only be able to go a little ways up in ranger. If I didn't do master brawler I would have plenty of skill points so I was just wondering if all those mods and beserk 2 etc, are actually worth it. Any advice guys?

I've just gotten master brawler (on Bloodfin). I've noticed some very nice improvments. I can hit harder and faster, and I dodge more. Not to mention, I hit more, and miss less. The bonuses that Master brawler gets are great for anyone planning on climbing any of the brawler trees.

Is it suggested then that it would be easier to climb an elite brawler proffession after getting master brawler, and then surrender master brawler and the rest of the skills to allow room for others (say, medic, etc).

Would I benefit more from master brawler or as a ranger with Teras Kasi. Not just including the skill mods for combat but everything about the proffesion.

Ok sorry to post again, but it looks like the only reason to go for master brawler is berserk two. I don't think Unarmed Lunge 2 will be of use since I get Knockdown on my Teras Kasi tree, plus all the skill mods in Teras will make up for the +5 to speed, toughness, and accuracy. And with the ranger I'll get +10 to melee and ranged defense, Not to mention all the skill that come along with it. As you can see I think I've made up my mind. If anyone can sway me please try, I would really like to become a master brawler but if I don't have the skill points I just need to find a trade off.

There's another good thread going on about whether Master Brawler is worth it or not:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=brawler&message.id=2214

Considering that it costs 48 skillpoints, and took me about 5 days of doing endless destroy missions with 1h, 2h and polearm (I was already 4 boxes into TK when i went backwards to pick up master brawler), I still can't decide if it's worth the points *for me*.

My personal experience is that unarmedlunge2 has great range (15 m or so) but does 4 damage. The TK knockdown I have does 300 damage for me, but has basically no range. If you're not polearm or tka and get no knockdown attack, you'll probably love master brawler to finally have a knockdown.

Berserk2 seems to be Berserk1 with about a 3-4 minute duration. You decide if thtis is good or bad. I think it lasts way too long, personally. I can't keep fighting for 4 minutes as I don't have a pocket medic following me around. I am almost to master medic myself, but I will incap myself in the mind pool from stimming if i try and fight berserk for 4 minutes.

Intimidate2 - this is what has made mekeep master brawler for now. It takes a bunch of tries to stick usually, just like intimidate1, but it last about as long as berserk2 does. You know when those **edit** creatures intimidate you and it lasts forever? My guess is htey are using intimidate2. When it lands, it's great, half damage is always a good thing.

Warcry2 - some folks love it, I don't see much benefit, especially when it rapes my ham bar getting it to stick (2 or 3 tries average).

What else is there - the bonuses. I am sorry but 5 points here and 5 points there don't really justify the expenditure of 48 skillpoints. It's the special attacks you get that make it even worth looking at for me.

In my case, it boils down to whether I think Master Brawler is better than Master Doctor. There's enough points for either Master TKA/Master Brawler/Master Medic, OR Master TKA/Master Doctor/Master Medic (pre-req to Doctor).

I am sure the rest of you can think of a good use for 48 skillpoints as well. It makes for a tough choice on whether Master Brawler is worth it or not. Basically, you can be a Master Brawlerm or you can master a second *advanced* profession.

I begin to get the feeling Master Brawler was never meant to be very powerful, just like Master Marksman all alone isn't that powerful. If it led to an advanced/elite profession, sure it would be nice to have, but just being a Master Brawler doesn't seem like an optimal use of valuable skillpoints. I am keeping it msyelf for now, until I get Master Medic, at which time I'll choose to keep it or drop it and pursue Master Doctor instead.

Hello.

I am currently a TKA novice working on Int. Balance and Int. Conditioning. My Brawler XP is 4/2/3/1. I have Novice Medic, Novice Artisan (resource hound) and Marksman 4/3/3/4. Mostly like to hunt. Working on Master Scout also now.

My question to the Master Brawlers is: Do the mulipliers to unarmed and Berserk 2, Int 2 and the such make it worth expanding my current Brawler skills? Or should I just stick with ranged to pull and concentrate on TKA skills? I really enjoy being a TKA and am looking forward to Master in the distant future, but I wonder if anyone had some suggestions as to falling back a bit to make a Master Brawler. If it was worthit, I could loose some Marksman skills.

Thanks in advance.

Personally, I am working on it just to break the boredom of grinding XP, but check out the "I love my TKM" post. Probably will answer your question about Master Brawler.

Hello, I am a master brawler right now, and I am 50,000 away from master teras kasi (would have been last night by my internet was down all night.)

My opinion on Master Brawler is as follows: before the patch it was amazingly valuable. After the patch there is only one etremely valuable bonus - intimidate 2.

Lunge2 is a knockdown move, which was very nice before the patch, becasue it works at 15 meters. After the patch, it really doesn't matter at all, and I literally never use it anymore. Beserk2 is horrible - I never, ever use it. The reason why is this - at higher levels +75 points to your base damage is never going to be as good as styling bonuses and flexibility, and not only this but bezerk2 lasts for two minutes! That is just way too long to be unable to use special moves. Warcry is affected by the same "delay" timer of other moves for some reason, which means I rarely ever use that. And the stat bonuses from being a master brawer are hardly significant at all.

So that levaes one skill - intimidate 2. Master brawler gives +20 to intimidate, but I don't know what that means. It could mean a bonus to its effectiveness, or it could mean a bonuse to its duration, or it could mean in increase to its chance to not be resisted, etc. Intimidate 2 lasts for a long time - I'm not sure exactly how long, but I would say 60+ seconds. The deal with intimidate 2 is that in conjuction with Stun, it reduces the damange you take by a huge, huge ammount.

Using stun + intimidate 2 on a hurrton stalker, the damange I would take dropped from about 150-160 to literally 20-40. That's extremely, extremely effective.

What are the drawbacks? Well for one thing intimidate is frequently resisted - sometimes I'd have to try to use it ten times before it would stick - that hurts the ham for sure (I'm a medic). For another thing, 48 skill points is an awful lot to invest in a line for one ability. There is literally nothing else under master brawler that I care about, and I'm wondering if I could use the points better.

I had planned to drop master brawler so that I could go up the doctor tree and buff my stats by siginificantly. I still wonder if that would be a better investment of those skill points. But... intimidate 2 + stun is REALLY effective. No getting around that. So I don't have an answer for you, but maybe some of that info helps you make your decision.
