Yep, Swordsman ...at the moment anyway. Who knows what the answer will be after the combat balance.

I have only been a TKA, so my opinion is quite partial.

TKA for powerboost, wound healing without meds, and force of will. Master doc is not that good anymore, seeing as how you can find a master doctor buffing people anywhere.

you could also combine two or more of the melee professions you know....

TKA/Swordsman. ouchies

There is more to being a master doc than just buffs. You also have the ability to cure states, poison, disease andfire.

I'd have to agree, swordsman and TK Meditate 4. Pikeman with a good looted LVA does as much damage as a swordsman in PvE (a little less with a player-crafted LVA), but is limited to kinetic damage for that output, whereas the least resisted damage type in high-end PvE is blast, which the AP2 high-damage power hammer excells at. So swordsmen can kill nearly every single thing in PvE whereas pikeman has things it cannot damage. Although, the area KD and area dizzy attacks pikeman has are superb.

"There is more to being a master doc than just buffs. You also have the ability to cure states, poison, disease andfire."

Under the current system, a TK can cure all the above through meditate (well, fire i dont recall...have not been roasted yet), so buffs are the ONLY reason to be a doc if your a TK. The only thing you cant heal yourself is battle fatigue. As a master TK, it amazes me how quickly I can blow through beasties. With buffs i can wade into a den and raise holy hell.Without buffs i have to be more cautious and take only a few on at a time. The result is the same....mission success, money in the bank. One drawback, some creatures have a high kinetic resist (some 100%!). Since thats all we can do is kinetic damage, you need to examine your prey before engaging. Thats when it pays to have friends with other professions (hehe).

Having medic skills to heal during combat is a nice addtion, especially when not buffed; but you dont need to be doc to do that...

After the next revamp of the combat system; who knows. Master dancer will probably be the most feared combat class then.

Meditate can't be done while on fire. Docs can heal 2k+ damage, cure all states (which from what I recollect meditate can't do) and like meditate can cure disease and poison, but can do it while in combat. Doc also allows you to buff yourself at a remote location (ie dath) and buff/rez buddies.

Well the guy isn't asking bout doc he is asking about whatto go with doc for PVE. Go with MSwordsman. TKM loses alot if you are a doc already and for PVE swordsman def mods are fine. As of right now you have2 damge types as sword and you can destroy minds very quick. TKM is good as well but Sword is an easier grind and will suit your templet better. Pikeman is a tough grind and has nice area attacks but right now not the best PVE. That argument belongs to TKM and master Swordman. Having been both I"d choose Sword over tkm because you are goingdoc. If you weren't I'd say go TKA because of meditation tree.
