How much more effective is Intimidate 2 over Intimidate 1? Trying to decide if I want to master brawler just for Int2 or will Int1 still be effective.

The only difference is that Intimidate2 lasts considerably longer.
However, you do recieve a +20 bonus to making Intimidate checks at Master Brawler. It's not quite the same as a "Strong" KD and a "Weak" KD

What is the max range they can be applied? Is it 30m on both?
Also, note that you do not have to be holding a melee weapon to use it. Intimidate and Warcry will work if you are holding a ranged weapon as well. So if you are a mixed range and melee profession, you can start at range, shoot them when they start to close in on melee range, hit them with Intimidate and keep shooting them till they get within melee range and switch to a melee weapon to continue the fight.

I was under the impression that int2 also reduces damage output by 50% vs int1 20%. Is that not th ecase anymore?

Intimidate 1 cuts damage by 50% as well, besides the duration (and the +20 bonus you get at master) that's it.

It lasts a bit longer, but did you notice how much longer berzerk2 lasts compared to berzerk1? OMG... it lasts so long I was starting to worry my character would never calm down. Actually, I could see the long duration of berzerk2 being a liability.

Sort-of on topic......
Why doesn't my Intimidate 1 ever work? I have been trying to use it throughout Unarmed 1-4 on various Tatooine critters and it never seems to stick. Is this normal: what kindof success rate should I expect? I'd love to use Int1 but I can't justify missing with it 9 out of 10 times.....
Is there anything I can do to improve the odds (e.g., I read in another thread that Stun might reduce defenses, so maybe I lead with that then attempt Int1)?
I would really really like to use this ability but it never works!
Thanks,

Int1 worked something like6 on 10 to me and Int2 9 on 10, but I think the mod levelis important.
Oh and yeah Berserk2 lasts a bit too long lol.

I've never noticed a problem with it sticking, try to buy some Bio-Engineer clothes I have some with +25 to Intimidate and Warcry, it helps a lot. In my opinion, Intimidate 2 alone isn't enough of a reason to keep Master Brawler Intimidate 1 stacks, so you can just spam it a few times at the start of PvE fights and it'll last plenty long, and for PvP most people die before it does lol. However, depending on your class some of the other things may be useful. Lunge 2 can be very helpful, and if your a Swordsman the Speed bonuses help, and if your a Pikeman all the bounses help. All in all though, its not that crucial just depends on your play style.

Does Intimidate cut the damage of ranged attacks as well? If I intimidate a Rifleman or a Pistoleer will it half the damage of their gunshots?

intimidate works on both ranged and melee atks.
intimidate 1 has the same effect as intimidate 2, 50% dmg reduction.
and the added duration for intimidate2 is definitely something to consider. you can basically intimidate every mob you're fighting and expect it to stick for quite a while.
and like others said...get some fear clothing if you're going to use intimidate at all. it makes a WORLD of difference.
