Hi all,

I bumped into a guy claiming that he had dabbled in a way that he could not be dizzied. This sounds very tempting to me, but I have been asking around, and people seem to think that you can not have a total defense against dizzy.

If you for example, dabble for 0040 pistoleer/0040 fencer and 4000 Swordsman, then you will have 100 defense vs. Dizzy. Does this mean that you have 100% defense vs. dizzy, and taht you can not ever be dizzied ?

If so, does the defense do the same for KDs and Posture downs aswell? I have been hearing many different answeres to this question, and maybe someone here has the correct answere ?

I had +95 defense vs KD and took some +98 KD food (+193 defense total) and got a TKA friend to spam KD on me, they could still knock me down, but very very rarely.

so it seems that state defenses (kd, dizzy, posture, blind, etc)aren't a percentage(0-100)like people seem to think

hope that helps

Yeah it does help, thx.

Unfortunately its not what I was hoping for

but it seems strange that almost 200 defense vs. KD still got you KDd ... how often was that? Like 1/10 or 1/20?

From a friend of a friend of a friend, i heard that there is a minimumchance of 10% thata state effect sticking.

With high def v dizzy, i've found that it also helps me standing up whenever i have been dizzied + kd/posture change. That might just be me imagining things, because i've not tested it.

Maximum stat stacking is 125 regardless of what your stat dscreen shows.

They put this feature in back in PUB 7

I always thought the chance to dizzy remained the same to a certain extent, but the period you are dizzy is reduced.

Thats true for ranged/melee defense and dodge/counterattack/block. Do you have proof that it capped others as well?

Yup, there is always a 10% chance of any state sticking, so +90 seems to be the cap for state defences.

I don't know how the state defenses work exactly. I don't think it's a percentage, I think it works something like Ranged and Melee Defense. I'm also pretty sure you can never be 100% invulnerable to anything. That person probably thought that the defense was a percentage. But then again, it might be. Can we get a Correspondant or something to give us the answer?

125 is the cap on ranged melee and dodge/counterattack/block

it is all the cap on STATE DEFENSES

now with 125 kd dizzy defense etc, you still have a 10% chance for that to happen to you

combat equilbrium has to do wiht how long you stay that way

im pretty sure imr ight cause in my template i have 120 kd defense, 120 dizzy, 100 posture, 100 blind, 90 stun, and with my attachmetns i reach the cap or close to cap on most of these, and state effects rarely occur to me

hope that helps

I've had about 3 or 4 templates since the caps were put in, and from experience they seem to cap at 90 or so which would imply the percentage rule, and the idea of a minimum of a 10% chance of landing a state. I have no conclusive data to prove this, but i've had 80, 100, and 120 kd def and they all seem to be about the same as when i had my 90 back in the day. I got kd'd a bit more with the 80, but very rarely with the 90 and up. To compare this to 90-125 ranged defense, with my carbine template i had between 80 and 90 ranged def, but i capped it with my fencer temp. As a fencer master riflemen missed, but as a carbineer, pistoleer/rogues where hitting me pretty often. Also, master smuggler/pistoleer couldn't do enough damage to me to incap me while buffed no armor with 125 ranged def and centered with 125 dodge. He was using a geo (not sure of the stats) but he hit so rarely that i just regenned back the damage. Any way all of this to say that i definitely see a difference between 90 and 125 ranged def, but not much difference between 90 and 120 kd def.
