I started a melee toon today and am going to master brawler. Currently I am 3333 brawler and exp has dropped to zilch. In my commando days, I went to wayfar for unarmed 4, but that just doesn't seem feasible since I need so much to get to block 4 of all the melees.

So, where did you go? What did you kill?

Bear in mind that now days, money is tight for newb toons, so I have good sliced weapons, but no armor, no doc buffs, no spices, etc....

take a break from brawler and run harvesters for a week

a week later when you have 800k+ buy everything you need :-p

No kidding.... harvesters would give me an ulcer before they would do me any good.

I recently started brawler myself. I am working on Unarmed 4 with speed-sliced VK. I also found a Bone Chestplate with special resistance to kinetic for a low price.
With this in mind, I am now on Dantooine taking missions for lesser plains bols. They are White CON (everything else seems to be Red). I can kill 2 or 3 before needing to rest a bit, and I am getting 365xp for each, plus about 1200xp for the lairs (and 1400cr per mission). I have no pet or droid to help me, so I believe this is pretty doable for just about anyone.

Yeah i know about those missions just didnt know what exp they give since they are new since the mount patch. Just so you know, zucca boars give the same exp and you don't have to run through a billion grauls, quenkers, hurtons, and voritors. I think they are 1200 credits so you lose a couple there. Really I was just curious if there were any new places since I have done the unarmed 4 grind with 3 characters and this will be my 4th. The difference is that I not only am doing unarmed 4, I need to do 1h, 2h sword, and pike.

The problem with zucca boars are that they are social. These are not as long as you attack any Scouts last.
I made Unarmed 4, and the added bonuses make them a bit easier to kill at the same experience.
Out of curiousity I tried killing a few with my Advanced 2-H Curved Sword. I am at the 3rd skill box in Brawler and I can use the mind attack (Head Hit or something) and kill on in about 3 hits, so I can see that they will be good and much faster with any of the other brawler weapons.
I have not had a problem with the aggros so far as all of these missions have been very close to the pirate outpost.
Now that I have the area attack from unarmed 4, zucca boars might be a good choice to get to TKA.

Unarmed 4 is killing me. Right now im on tatooine running around one of the cities killing the noob creatures getting 63-98 exp each. I figure I have to kill around 1000 of them. This is the best method I can come up with and it sux. I know there must be a better way.

The reason I like zucca boars is that they are social. Throw your armor on, spin attack, dead boars. Harder with unarmed but great with 1-hand and 2-hand. By the way, with the 2-hand swords on zucca boars, don't even worry about using specials, it only take 3-4 hits without them. With 1-hand, you have to use some specials to keep your damage high and with polearms..... I dunno yet. I'm still only 3333 brawler, but I have been playing my main the past few days.

i ran arround moenia on naboo killing anything and everything,alsyanything that consyellow or white, and sometimes even red, and i mastered brawler pretty fast (mind you i had master swordsman to back me up incase the fight got tough) plodding falumpaset, fanned rawl, and motley kaadu help build experience up pretty decently. then when you get higher up, kill regular kaadu, just watch out as they are social now.

WOOT my frustration with unarmed 4 is gone. I read somewhere that using a vibroknuckler is a good idea even without the certification. This is VERY true. Get one with a really good speed slice and the difference is night and day. You do a little less dmg but the speed is like tripled. Im a medic so I use muon gold and just spam specials all day and heal.

Which proffessions give u VK certification??

Novice TKA give VK cert.

I acutally noticed that I was doing more damage with my VK, not less....plus I was attacking faster. Of course, I got about the only one on the server- had to go from Tatooine to Corellia just to get it.
