Hi,

Im fairly new to this game seeing at it came out in the UK about 2 weeks ago. I started off with Marksman and Scout skills intending to become a BH but turns out everyone wanted to become one so i deleted my chara (he had a gay ass name) and created a Wookie.

I decided to give melee a go and i got my hands on a 2 Handed Curved sword... up until now ive been doing fine, soloing Rock Beetles on Tatooine, but when I'm in a group i seem to die alot when fighting Dewbacks and Giant Sand beetles where the other melee classes seem to stay alive longer...

My question is this...

Is a Wookie brawler at a dis-advantage over the other races because he/she can't wear armor? If so... I'll just go delete him right now and start again as another race.

Thanks for any feedback

i am a wookis tka. and i think i made a great decision. they are stronger and hit for a little more power. and you really dont need armor with all the extra defense. and armor will further depleat your HAM bars.

on the contrary, you'll be at an advantage because you'll have higher stats & as a brawler (& more especially the elite classes extending off of it) you'll get XXXtoughness (where XXX is the brawler style of fighting i.e. unarmed, two handed, ect.) which reduces the damage you take from other melee when using that style. I'm a human TKA & I don't use a single piece of armor, neither do most brawler types that I know. Some do, but not nearly as many as don't.

Im a wookiee mbrawler/tkm/mfencer. I wouldnt change this character for anything a holocron told me to do (in fact Im collecting themfor decoratingmy house). The criticisms Ive seen in the past were always from non-wookiee ranged characters. I took alot of crap from non-Wookiee proff du jour (armored CH; commandos, doc-tka combos, BHs etc.) players when I started this character. To sum it up, I rarely lose duels and I almost always get surprised customers after i incapp them and my HAM is still full. This is not a boasting post but just wanting to share my luck with fellow wookiee brawler types. Dont listen to the hype.

I am trandoshan... but reformed, and a big time brawler/heavy swordsmen! When I was a brawler dewbacks and giant sand beetles were WAAYYY out of my league, I wasn't taking them till I was a novice at least. I also was getting killed by sick for some time! this was all back in august. As for armor, I only wear it when I fight things I should not be fighting anyway or in PVP against ranged guys. You don't really need it, especially with the way the defences are working. Don't you guys have an area intimidate? if that stacks with regular intimidate, that would rock! May I suggest getting master brawler? it is way too cool, plus you get blind and stun from teras!

My first character started as a Wookiee Brawler (Chewiciiirevge - Sunrunner)way back in the first week of release. It was just too tough at that time and I completely dropped Brawler, took Marksman and worked my way up the Rifleman tree (Bowcaster is a wicked weapon)

I've now created another character on a different server (Tyte - Naritus) and made another Wookiee Brawler. With the subsequent changes over the past few months, if it doesn't con red to me, I'm smooth sailing. I can take on 6 or 7 pack mobs without getting incapped, and usually without having to use any stim packs.

Chewiciiirevge - Sunrunner - formerly IVI ]V[egaTribe > formerly IC Inner Circle > formerly MOO (how we miss MOO...) > now ICC
ex-Master Creature Handler (fun), Master Scout (Holo1), Master Marksman (Holo 2 pre-requisite), Master Commando (Holo2), Master Entertainer (Holo3), Master Architect (Holo4) then silence

Tyte - Naritus - formerly REAL > now REAL Reborn

Speaking as a wookiee (and the other wookiees have said this too) Brawler is great for us! Toughness has made me a much better tank, whereas before I was a BH (who by the way get no defenses) and if my target got even close to me I was dead. BUT NOW... the combination of CoB and Toughness and Intimidate is very good. That does not mean that we dont need armor, we still will get our asses kicked by armor wearers, but at least now I am a viable PvE tank.

As a Wookie Brawler I would recomend getting Master Brawler, this gives you lunge2 (a knock down) and warcry2 (delays the target for 20secs). Used together you can keep the target knocked down for 20 secs, allowing you to take out most targets before they can stand up again. To help this its worth investing in some warcry/intimidate BE clothing (you only can use the shoulderpad and bandolier) as this inproves the chance of warcry working.

Can anybody offer any advice as to how I should distrubute my HAM points for being a wookiee brawler? I'm coming from the Rifleman tree so most of my stats are set up for that.

Hate to give up my Bow, but want to try something different. But, I'll got swordsman, and rip the hell out of my opponents mind!

You dont have to give up the bow, but you just wont be as effective with it.

The Ryyk blade ( sp?) is a Wookie weapon anyways, I have decided to go tkm and either master swords or fencer, but my question is this, what have you wookie brawlers out there made your stat migration go to?

I just made master brawler last night and love it so far!

Finnahen.....last one off the server, please turn off the lights...

I've seen a couple of posts about stat migration and it seems that people max out their mind and put a fair amount in the the secondary mind stats (700-800). Also seems thatpeople havehealth and action at about 600 and min regen stats at the minimum. Most of the posts were for non-wookiee who can wear armor. And it seems that they have their stats like this because they wear armor. Well us wookiees dont have that advantage. and PSG only help minimaly

So it seems that I need to put more stats into the health and action part as opposed to my mind pool. then maybe buff my regen stats with food or spice. Still, any suggestions from verteran wookiee brawlers would help! Thanks!

At the moment I cant see being a wookie a huge disadvatage. Sure armor can be nice but more draining when useing specials. I have a Zabrak TKM and when I do wear armor its a helment and maybe a chest piece. Even the times I've went without armor I rarely took a really big hits, as most shots at me missed. I'm working on a Wookie master brawler with tkm and maybe master 2-h swords. Basicly that would give me more melee and ranged defenses then my Zabrak TKM has making it less a disadvantage for armor(Hopefully). As far as pvp goes.. the only professions I had trouble fighting is another TKM or a BH. The eye shot did about nothing with helment.. but considering they can also dizzy and kd form a distance bh that doesnt live by just eye shot can be a pain and seem to rarely miss (Atleast in the battles I've been in). The Master Commando's I have faced since reaching TKM have missed so much it was just funny to watch(And not so funny since I'm also a Master commando and have missed TKM's more then hit). So.... in other words only thing I would really be worried about in pvpasa wookie is eye shots (but atleast tka med 2can atleast boost there mind, health, action) and flame throwers cause I'm sure in more battles you will have good days and bad where they hit more or miss less.

The only thing thats truely a pain right now to me is being flamed as I can get incapped but some lucky shots and theres almost no point in even using force of will or even someone healing me as the flame dot will just incapp 3 times anyway if no waters near. I'll be glad when (if that is to be)they make something that maybea doctor in a group or combat medic can use to put it out. Cause even being a Master Commando I think its rather cheap and needs another way of being put out just like poisions and dieases can be(but not as easy as bleeds).

Mastered TKA, Commando, Marksman, Medic, Scout, Brawler, Image Designer, Combat Medic, Fencer....,
How many skills mastered for a holo? 1 : Image designer... then all was silent
How many skills will be done for FS now? Zero (Just to lazy to grind only for a chance it might be the fifth one)
Currently: Bladesmaster, Master Scout
