Thread: Slicing Nym's Carbine

Hi, I got myself near max Nym's carbine (and on first try too!), and was wondering how to slice it (came few weeks ago from long break so no idea about most stuff post-cu)
Here the stats:
Attack Speed: 2.25
Damage: 359-718
Element Damage: 175
DPS: 316.89
SAC: 81

Either for speed or critical hit. It's already over the slicing cap for damage. And I believe the only stat not capped on that one is damage, which caps at 360-720.

First off, you lucky SOB

.I have one that is not quite as good as yours, but I went with an all speed slice and use a dmg pup on it. From what I read, speed was the way to go. But I'd like to see other opinions as well.

That's weird. I got a near cap Nyms my first try a couple of days also. Sliced it for speed. brought it down to 1.98 base speed.
The only difference between mine and yours is max dmg 717.

Oh... it's been discussed here several times, the general consent on slicing a Nym's is speed. A damage slice would be possible, but since it only enhances the non-elemental damage, your actual gain is lower than you could expect. The very same is true for critical hit.
Speed on the other hand helps the weapon to do it's damage faster, so both the kinetic damage, as well as the accid damage, are enhanced that way.

It all depends really...mainly on your armor and skill mods.
I'm Master Carbineer, Master Bounty Hunter, 0400 Combat Medic. On top of that I'm capped on Speed Attachments...this combined with the speed buff and I'm pretty well set on damage. Therefore I sliced my capped 720 max damage Nyms for Crit Chance, as my capped 720 speed sliced one does manage to eat up more action during a battle.
