So, last night I'm on Kashyyk, waiting at the SP for yet another mark to make a run for the starship terminal, and I get a /tell: "Our base is under attack! Please come help defend it and grab anyone you can along the way!" What the heck. I've got nothing better to do and my mark will probably still be grinding in the Myydril Caverns long after I'm done with this, anyway. I suit up, go overt and head over to the base. I get there and there are about 30 overt Imperials standing around the starport! The largest show of force I've seen in a good while--certainly cince CU. A scout pops in to check us out and is completely annhilated in less than 2 seconds--no exaggeration. A bit later, I'm patroling the perimeter of the city and I notice the sparkly trail of a cloaked jedi running around and alert the group. We chase him a bit and after a while he runs out of Force and is summarily handed his butt.
A bit later, the force we were expecting starts to arrive, but not as Special Forces. They come in as Combatants and proceed to take out the NPC's and the turrets. Some of these guys are jedi so I head to the terminal there in the town and start scanning for their missions. I find one and head back to the fight. At the time, all I saw was that he was swingin' his saber around... I had no idea he was dueling someone. What's going through my head at the time is how nice this is going to be and how surprised he'll be. I open fire and he takes off (or tries to). Stoppingshot, chargeshot, a couple criticals, and he's out, but I didnt' get the d/b. A minute later, I'm getting tells about what a jerk I am, etc etc. and then he throws in that at least I didn't win. "What?" I reply. He points out that I didn't get the d/b... I didn't win. I tell him "It's OK. I still have your mission. I'll getcha later.
After the battle, I check and my mark is still online. I track him down to my own homeplanet and head over for a look-see. He's hiding in his house, of course, and instantly picks up on the fact that I'm there for him. He asks if I want him to come out and I tell him "No thanks. When I'm fighting guys that can heal/defend/hit like jedi do, my only advantage is surprise and I don't intend to toss it aside. You caught me. I'm leaving. I'll catch up with ya later."
Now on today... (This is where it gets good :smileywink
Log in. Mark's online. Probe tells me he's on Kashyyk. (big surprise). I head over with the intent of hangin' out in the starport to wait for him, but when I get there, I see his alt (or at least his buddy--same last name). I quickly adjust my strategy and run to the nearest NPC and act like I'm talking to him. Then I run back to the ship terminal and launch. As soon as I'm up, I turn right around and land as quickly as possible. My plan worked like a charm! I see my mark's alt heading off toward Kkowir Forest so I give him a little lead, then hop on my speeder and let him take me right to the Myydril Caverns. I always run a /target macro so when I check an instance of the Caverns I know if my mark is in that instance the moment I load in. After a few tries I picked him up just outside of the Necrosis spot, grinding away to his heart's content. I could only stand and watch, however; those Unsor'is are nasty.
This goes on for a while until I make a really dumb mistake. I see another Imperial enter the cave, so being the personable dummy I am, I go to /tiphat to her. I had only targeted her and by the time I'd typed out "/tiphat", my macro had re-targeted my mark! BUT! It worked out really well. In fact, I wish I'd done it sooner! Because my mark panicked. A few seconds later, his buddy sent me a tell, asking if I was after him. Then another friend of his complimented me on my carbine. (Obviously all to distract me) But it's OK--I'm keeping an eye on my mark the whole time I'm humoring them, letting them assume they'd been successful in their attempts. As soon as my mark disappeared, I knew what he did. The best part was that I don't think he was counting on me having the "mystical stone" that warps you back to the starport as well!
A click of the mouse, and I was standing right next to him! BLAMMO! Stoppingshot, chargeshot, a couple criticals, and again, it was all over. I collected my 166k, bowed to his corpse and said "I told ya I'd getcha" and walked away, very satisfied. Just thought I'd share

Rheso you are the man. I remember hunting with you back when I was in BHA.
Drop me a line and we'll hook up for some Jedi slapping fun.
