If you are a paddy, and have no skills... shouldn't you be a little more carefull?

So, I was hunting a jedi late 2 nights ago. It was a low level jedi. I tracked her to Dant, and found her in a house 1k from the mining outpost. I hung around about 300m out waiting for movement. Eventually she logged out. Advance 2 days to last night. I'm on Kashyyyyk and I see that the jedi I was after came online. So i rubed my smooth stone and warpped to the starport. On a guess I flew straight to the Mining Outpost.

I launched my seeker and waited for an update. Before I could get an update my targeting macro picked her up... she was 80m from the mining outpost.... and taking dammage?? So i hopped on my bike, cut her off,and leaped off my bike firing a ROOT shot .. she was at the edge of the water! Me and the other BH finished her off, I got the DB, and tipped the other BH 50k of the payout.

So... then the jedi starts telling me "thanks for ruining my night" and "do you feel as good as when we used to kill meatlumps AFK?"

my response to that was "im sorry you had to resort to killing meatlumps AFK to get where you are.. some of us play this game AT the keyboard."

The point... if you are a noob jedi, and you know that BH are probly after you... why would you bike into the MO?

And if you get on the terminals... go to the south end of LOK .. or somewhere remote, not the MINING outpost... On wanderhome there are more people in the mining outpost than in Coronet!

BAH!...

BUT the night got better...

the next jedi I went after, I tracked him to a player city. The initial came up just outside of mos eisley. So I launched a seeker and flew from Bestine to ME. When the seeker updated the WP moved 2k.. so this jedi was on the move.

I flew to the WP and the jedi is standing at a bank terminal in a player city. I fly up as fast as I can, jump off, Root him and start going to town.... its takes him a few seconds before he pulled out a gun and started shooting back. I get the incapp and the DB with no prob.

He then says "nice AFK kill"

first... there was NO afk above his head.

second... If you are a paddy and you think you might be on the terms, why would you even think about leaving your computer for a second when you are in the middle of a player city fully exposed?

well i put him on ignore and read throught the combat spam.

He was using ADVANCED CRITICAL shot on me! So this jedi was calling me scum, yet he is wearing a jedi robe and hasn't even dropped MBH himself!

oh well.. sorry for the rant

Meh not meant to be here butI was bored of whining.... you were doin yer job first one was a little poor though teaming up on a padawan is a bit low, but hey if they make the mistake of being off guard all it is is money in your pocket. Used to be a BH myself so ive dealt with the hate tells also good job on the second one though its dumn padawans like that who deserve to be hunted.

The trouble issome Paddies take it too personal and justcannot accept that we are just the "difficult" in "long and difficultpath to Jedi". The "long" is the xp requirement, the "difficult" is BHs or grind alone and live like a hermit. They have seen some of their luckier friends grind to full template in 2 weeks and believe that is "working as intended" and want to do exactly the same with no interuptions. If you fulfill your in-game role you are the lowest form of life and a griefer and a respec n00b, just because they want the "short and easy path to Jedi" and your job is to make it SLIGHTLY difficult.

The ONLY thing difficult about grinding to Jedi is being hunted. They do some of the easiest content in the game to getthe old git visit then afk macro while watching EP3 on DVD (you naughty younglings) to unlock (OK so pre CU who didnt have MD MRM and the /tar friends alt; /headshot3; /db; /rez macro while stood next to village trainer?). Once unlocked it should be a difficult grind to Jedi.

If BH missions were removed from the game then it wouldnt be long before new starters would be able to choose "Novice Jedi" as their starting profession and then we would see some serious crying fro mthe l3370rz.

Some of these Jedi are Ebayed and don't know what's going on. They bought their shiney new toy, log in not realizing their toon has an experience debt and is on the terms. And they go to the nearest starport to show off and minutes later they are in the cloner.

Personally I avoid taking low pay missions that are obviously very new padawans. Especially right now with the visibility issues they have due to CL problems. It's pretty hard for them to avoid visibility.

The only padawans I hunt are:

  1. Padawanswho duel in the spaceport or other very public location. If you get visibility by mistake that's one thing. Deliberately beingan idiot I have no sympathy for. (see this ALL the time, every one of them goes on my list of huntable padawans)

  2. Padawans who have made themselves known to me to bea jerk (one on my server in particular comes to mind: He wanted us to kick some newbies out of our hunting group so his other 'new jedi' friends could get the experience they needed because "they need it more and earned it")

That's pretty much it.

Personally I don't have a lot of respect for any BH who hunts noob jedi... they're not a challenge by any stretch of the imagination.

At first, hunting noob jedi was really the only way for me to practice some of the tactics I have ended up using. You've got to start somewhere. Now, it's almost impossible to get a mission on a jedi for 180k and know for a fact they are CL80 (last three of mine were CL67). Because most are still getting all novices boxes to convert to higher tier boxes.

Sometimes I feel bad about it too, but nobody is forcing them onto the ryratt trail where they are easily killed.

I usually only focus on the little fish when they are talking smack, nothing is more humbling than negative xp. No Jedi have respect for others who AFK, it's just an opportunity for smack talking. Write down that Jedi's name - and take him next. What will he say then?

My favorite was a conversation yesterday with a full template shim named VictoriaLynn. He (I later found this out), was calling me a bottom feeder because I was hunting 178k jedi. It was like he had some type of mental disorder because every 3 mins or so he'd start spouting out:

VictoriaLynn tells you: Noob

VictoriaLynn tells you: Bottom Feeder

VictoriaLynn tells you: BIAAAAATCH

Anyhow - I ended up asking him how many low level jedi I've killed, he didn't answer so I assume I must have killed one of his buddies back about 6 weeks ago when I did the /respec. So anyways, come to find out - I should not mess with him, he's a war hero....

VictoriaLynn tells you: Noob

VictoriaLynn tells you: Bottom Feeder

VictoriaLynn tells you: BIAAAATCH

He had tours in Alfganistan, and Iraq - he's 27 and he's a bad mofo. No BH can touch him. That's what he said. I asked if on his tours was the cook, and he responded....

VictoriaLynn tells you: Noob

VictoriaLynn tells you: Bottom Feeder

VictoriaLynn tells you: BIAAAATCH

A story from earlier. I found a jedi on the terminal that was online and not on Kash so went after him. Realised when I got close that he was imperial and I am still not sure where I stand on this. So I end up giving up the mission and his jedi friends start insluting me even after I have given up the mission. Yell to the Mark that I have dropped his bounty and won't hunt him because he is imperial. What follows is a deluge of insluts and swear words. So I reply "I only hunt rebels apart from juvenile imperials who need to grow up." I also tell him that he has just been put on my list which I pass around the other BH's at the terminals and for him to watch his back as some of the other guys are evil.

Went back and got his mission again and will not let up until he is dead.

Have left the empire now as I am fed up with the childish insults you geteven when you realise that the mark is a Imperial and end up dropping the mission anyway. So leaves me plenty more options. You would have thought they would be happy but anyways.

NEVER feel sorry for Jedi, they are - afterall, merely an acquisition.

I hunt for the credits and the thrill. Not to make anyone lose XP. I don't think it's worth dropping BH and becoming a carebear simply over my mark losing XP. It is afterall not my fault, but SOE's.

So Jedi and BH's alike - realize that it's SOE that makes the Jedi lose XP. All I do is my bounties, it's SOE's fault you lose anything at all. Same goes for cloning from PvE. Sure you engaged the NPC in mortal combat, but the NPC didn't grief you or steal your items' conditions - and you didn't grief yourself. So be honest here - itis SOE's game systems that make that happen.

Finally, Jedi dont be jerks. I'm going to hunt you if you're on the terminals you should expect no less. Don't plead for mercy or tell me not to kill you because almost every mark does. I just ignore you and continue doing my mission, because that's what I play for - to complete my mission as best as I can.
