$$$ > StarWars
Get over it. We left the SW universe around spring '04 if I recall correctly (at least that's how I experienced it).
I know it's hard to RP and all these days but for the sake of theBH boardsand all our faveorite Jedi trolls...
Lighten up ![]()
The players made the economy, and it got borked with the holocron craze way back when (not blaming Jedi, btw - blaming devs for implementation).
As for the others, yeah it would be great for this to be more like the actual movie periods, but the devs left way too much of the content generation in the hands of the players. Yeah it sounds cool to say "it's your game" but what that translates to is "you do the work we don't want to" alot of the time - hence why Kashyyyk has grown so popular even with non-Jedi; it's the only actual content-packed area of the game.
The game right now is what the players have made of it. The devs opened that particular pandora's box and now can't close it again, which is why the environment continues to degrade. The only thing left to do is to stop mourning what could have been, accept what is, and move forward. Or voice your dissatisfaction in the only way that SOE will listen at all - cancel the account.
Even that won't happen in enough numbers for their bottom line to be affected much.
the jedi younglings are children that are just born with force sensitivity. Few jedi did get married and have children, but the majority are children that the jedi have found to be force sensitive, so they trained them.
about the vader-tarkin conversation, well you're right, they wouldn't be able to say this in the game, because there aren't supposed to be many jedi. They're all supposed to be hinding.
as for the cost of things in game, thats just inflation of the economy, SOE can't do too many things to control this.
The economy got pushed out of whack before the holocraze.
Resources were sold for an average starting price of 3CPU long before Holocrons were in the game.
This is what set the market.
Armorsmiths, and weaponsmiths charging 20+Cpu for weapons/armor set the proces higher.
Architects could not sell their wares for 20 CPU, and rarely sold for 3 cpu.
The system is a player made economy. The only thing you can blame for the inflated market are the players themselves who inflated prices based on a moving demand.
Holocrons were the first sought after Item that tipped the scales into the several million range, but the money was there to support the rise in price when it came into play. Therefore the market was already flooded with credits pre-holo.
How many families went husbandless/fatherless when all of those troops were killed? Nobody there to provide for their welfare...
Of course things got more expensive!
