Thread: Some important quotes from the films to consider

The first twodeal specifically with the Jedi issue which in large part, obviously deals with BH issues. I have been a MBH since about the 4th or 5th month of the game now and so I am always interested in the opinions of my "in game" peers. That's why I am posting this here.

Ben, "That boy is our last hope." (referring to Luke Skywalker)

Voda, "No there is another." (Referring to the one other force sensative person to be in existance-Leia Organa).

Another thing to consider; since Jedi are basically monks, save Anakin Skywalker, how are there any youngling Jedi offspring?

(If this is obscene to discuss, then the game is obscene! I saw a 75% naked twi'lek with her butt fully exposed yesturday right after I got wacked out of my toon's skull on drugs - I mean "spice" - drunk on brandy and had another character's toon screaming obscenities everywhere...so don't try to say this is obscene).

Vader, "He is here."

Tarking, "Obi-Wan Kenobi here? What makes you think this."

Vader, "A tremour in the force..."

Tarkin, "Surely he must be dead by now... ...you my friend are all that's left of their religion."

-Would the Imperial Fleet's Grand Moff actually be able to think this in the current SWG game, post Episode 4 (Tarkin's episode) and pre-Episode 5.

Han, "Well that's the real trick, isn't it? It's going to cost you something extra. 10,000 all in advance."

Luke, "10,000! We could almost buy our ship for that! Common we don't have to sit here and listen to this!"

-I challenge any on the game, on the Tarquinas server, to find me a multiplayer vessel and an engine and capacitor (at least) for around 10,000 credits.

You think SOE really understands the Star Wars Universe at all? If SWG were one of these books taking place in the SW Universe, would Lucas approve it as it is now, or would this be a bandit SW book?

As I've noticed, SOE deletes any thread that makes a point as to how SWG doesn't resemble the SW universe anymore, so I expect only a few of you will get to read this before a Dev realizes it makes a good point and deletes it. Unfortunately SWG has become Jedi Outcast Online, with a few more planetary maps and a monthly fee. There is no longer any assemblance of the Galactic Civil War, which was the entire premise for the original trilogy! This game no longer feels anything like a Star Wars Univers set in the time period between Episodes 4 and 5. It's a shame only the SW fans see this. I hope the rest enjoy EQ 3 set in the Star Wars setting. It was a brilliant way to further market Everquest by using the Star Wars franchise.

-Hey SOE, here's a novel idea. Instead of trying to get new customers to replace the lost ones. Try fixing the bugs so you get new customers and KEEP the old ones too! Next time you delete a post that puts SOE in a bad light, think about giving us reasons to put you in a good light instead. ...you see when someone buys the game it means they want to like it. When they cancel an account it means you made someone who liked the game dislike it. How's that good business again?
Where does a 90% drop is customer base equal good business? SOE

Ready for the hard, cold truth? Here we go:

$$$ > StarWars

Get over it. We left the SW universe around spring '04 if I recall correctly (at least that's how I experienced it).

The players made the economy, and it got borked with the holocron craze way back when (not blaming Jedi, btw - blaming devs for implementation).

As for the others, yeah it would be great for this to be more like the actual movie periods, but the devs left way too much of the content generation in the hands of the players. Yeah it sounds cool to say "it's your game" but what that translates to is "you do the work we don't want to" alot of the time - hence why Kashyyyk has grown so popular even with non-Jedi; it's the only actual content-packed area of the game.

The game right now is what the players have made of it. The devs opened that particular pandora's box and now can't close it again, which is why the environment continues to degrade. The only thing left to do is to stop mourning what could have been, accept what is, and move forward. Or voice your dissatisfaction in the only way that SOE will listen at all - cancel the account.

Even that won't happen in enough numbers for their bottom line to be affected much.

the ben-yoda quote is refering to another that can bring balance to the force (aka skywalker)

the jedi younglings are children that are just born with force sensitivity. Few jedi did get married and have children, but the majority are children that the jedi have found to be force sensitive, so they trained them.

about the vader-tarkin conversation, well you're right, they wouldn't be able to say this in the game, because there aren't supposed to be many jedi. They're all supposed to be hinding.

as for the cost of things in game, thats just inflation of the economy, SOE can't do too many things to control this.

The economy got pushed out of whack before the holocraze.

Resources were sold for an average starting price of 3CPU long before Holocrons were in the game.

This is what set the market.

Armorsmiths, and weaponsmiths charging 20+Cpu for weapons/armor set the proces higher.

Architects could not sell their wares for 20 CPU, and rarely sold for 3 cpu.

The system is a player made economy. The only thing you can blame for the inflated market are the players themselves who inflated prices based on a moving demand.

Holocrons were the first sought after Item that tipped the scales into the several million range, but the money was there to support the rise in price when it came into play. Therefore the market was already flooded with credits pre-holo.

The economy went into a huge recession with the destruction of the first Death Star...I mean how many man-hours and how much money went into the making of the Death Star?

How many families went husbandless/fatherless when all of those troops were killed? Nobody there to provide for their welfare...

Of course things got more expensive!

devs made the economy screwed up from the beginning...in the beginning of the first book of the bounty hunter series or whatever, Boba is only given 12.5k for bringing a target in...and when he is offered 30k by the spider thing (only read this book once can't remember name ) he sees it as a tremendous mission payout
