Thread: Going It Without Medic?

I have a question, since I've never been a big PvPer so I haven't had the chance to test it out:

Since as MBH's we take on PvP targets one at a time, and have the advantage of first-strike, can we get away with just using Ruby Bliel and Stim D's for healing instead of picking up CM?

I know many people swear by CM, even MCM, but this is not going to be my route. (I don't care if I win every fight, either - I would rather do it my way then throwing CM debuffs. But I do want to win, if skill and luck hold out, of course.)

only if the jedi is a total moron. 9/10 times you'll die. simple as...

1200 heal every 30 seconds?! 30 seconds is a LONG time in pvp, you'll be dead well before the cooldown timer fully refreshes

With Ruby Bliel, isn't the cool-down timer NOT 30 seconds? I thought Ruby Bliel sped it up?

normal stim packs heal once every 60seconds, ruby bliel reduces this by half down to 30seconds.

unless this has changed in recent patches?

One of my MBHs is MBH MCH template and I definitely feel that I need CM 4xxx

It's only one line and you need it. You can still do it your way with the double mastery.

Not true.... With MBH / MPist / Carb 0440 you'll be able to kite jedi 70-90% of the fight. I made a fair name formyself on shadowfire using this template. It works, but it is tricky to learn.

Not true... Ruby bliel does not work like that. Once you take a ruby bliel you can again stim... over and over, no time limit.... until you run out of stomach room. You can actually stim twice in about 5 seconds. While this is not enough for GCW PvP (Unless you have a healer with you and/or you have room to run the skirts of the fight) it is enough for a smart MBH.

You don't have to have any medic but it does make your fight a lot hrader and skill intensive.

Ruby biel lets you use 1 stim after the other ONCE. Its bugged once you use it even though it says it has a xminute timer its gone. You can stim down a ruby then stim again.

Thanks for the input. I see I am just going to have to experiment for myself.

Currently my MBH toon is MBH + MPistoleer + 4xxx CM.

My intended toon, once the Ranger Revamp happens (and if the pre-reqs stay as stated by devs currently):

MBH + MRanger + 44x4 Carbineer. (Took xxx4 Carbineer instead of xx4x Carbineer for the Stun and Dizzy Recovery, additional snares from lack of Improved Suppression Fire will come from MRanger traps is the plan.)

4 points left over so accumulated Combat XP can be dumped into FS.

I am hoping to be able to successfully use the template in single BH PvP combat. It'll be tactical and very skill-intensive with my template, but that is the way I want it (as long as I am not stupidly out-matched/nerfed.)

I never use stun or dozzy recovery...

I used to be an accuracy stacker template but i didnt have a badass-enough gun to win in my first strike so i usually died

If I ever had to use a stimpack back when I had to use stimpacks, I almost always died.

(Sidenote: Seems some people here have actually experimented with Ruby Bliel + Stim D's. The above comment about having to use stims equating death makes me wonder - did this person also use Ruby Bliel?)
