Thread: Planet-hopping NPC marks
Since when exactly do NPC marks travel from one planet to another?
I picked up a mission today that sent me to Corellia. After sending a seeker there, it turned out my mark was near Kor Vella... but after tracking him for a couple of minutes and seeing him get dangerously close to town, I got the system message "The biological signature could not be found on this planet" or something like that...
Much to my surprise, I sent another probe droid to find out that my mark had shuttled to Endor!!! That's the first time that my mark actually left the planet... very surprising!

hmm interesting, just hope if they do hop off planet, they would realistically spawn near a shuttleport or starport.
i always thought that npc marks should behave like this. say if once your seeker locates them they beging to move towards a starport as they saw the seeker and made a run for it. would also be good if the elites were on a speeder, when they're moving you could set up an intercept point, take out the speeder and attack them.
people who are just in it for the loot probably wouldn't like it, but it would be a bit more entertaining for the rest of us. i'd like a bit more of a story line and a chase rather than just following waypoints.
even better would be if you're mbh and have completed jabbas you could take missions form Boba which would be similar though shorter than his clone relics quest. make the marks something like a cl82-88 for the challenge and boba would give you a random loot item plus money for killing the mark.
Sucks I know especially if you have been tracking all over the darn place.

Some good ideas here, sign me up for it!
Now regarding the realistic spawn near a starport/shuttleport on the new planet, that didn't happen to me. The mark spawned 3.4k away from the smuggler outpost on Endor. However, it really felt like my mark was making a run for it, as it seemed I was not going to him, rather chasing him!The bloody NPC kept outracing me for a minute or two even though I was on my BARC... very surprising overall behavior when it happens for the first time! I can't say I didn't like it though - if not for the infamous jar of bugs that I got from him ![]()

Wow I have done well over 600 NPC BH missions and never had this happen...
i've had a few disappear when they got to starports, i think it was in kor vella as well actually. just assumed the mission was bugged and aborted. next time i'll launch a probe and see.
it's good that the npcs have a bit better ai than before, but i'd still like them to move with some semblance of real world physics, i.e. not suddenly warp 4000m for no good reason. also if they do hop off planet ahve them spawn near a star port and have them move off at a reasonable speed.
