Bounty Hunter Archive
Thread: Doh
Hey guys and gals -
I am a Master TKA and Commando (Flame 4 but was once master).
Spend most of my time amazingmy guildmates by being virtually unstopable in PVE, and **edit** hard to kill in PVP.
KD2 + FlameSingle2 = one dead critter
Anyways...
I am getting a little bored with commando, as you can only spam the same specials so many times before the bordom is unbearable - not to mention commando only has one "good" weapon, and dont get me started on the defences (lack there of).
Thinking of dumping commando (and probably most of marksman) for master rifleman. I am used to doing some pretty wicked damage, and don't know much about rifles in general (basically got rifles 4 by shooting anything that moved on tattoine).
So I bought a Laser Rifle and decided to headshot2 a swarming dewback - only did 500 damage to the beasty - it then decided to run up and bite my leg ![]()
Know I know all about resists and how going up in rifles will increase the damage - but my how much?
The flame thrower does on average about 1000 points damage (and has a base speed faster then any T21 that I have seen)- without using specials - and about 5k damage using specials, and about 9k if I use TKA KnockDown. In short i love going to Dath and killing Rancors.
My attention was drawn to Rifleman as the thought occured - what if they do massive damage long range, and with my MTKA title, I can just backhandthe MOB if it comes too close.
I guess what I am asking is this ...
Is it worth dumping all my commando skills (and all the time I put into it) to go Master Rifleman and keep my Master TKA?
What type of damage can I expect to dish out with Master Rifleman?
Any tips / tricks I you could make me aware of?
(please bear in mind I already have rifles 4 as I have commando - and I am also a master TKA)
TKM/MRM is pretty close to a Flavor Of the Month template. So it has to be worth something.
As to your experience with the laser rifle - Laser Rifle has avery wide damage range and therefor is pretty inconsistant. The single example you give with HS2 is probablyslightly below the middle of therange for that weapon with that special. HS2 isby far not the best specialyou can get as a rifleman. Unlike commando you will have to master rifleman to get the best one.
T21 is slow but speed improvements that you get as you go up the Rifle Special Abilities line is signifficant. Once you master rifleman you will autofire it at about 1 second and will hit the slowest specials at about 2-2.5 seconds. If you keep master marksman along with MRM you will fire all specials at 1second.

Heres a few list of Ideas, feel free to add on or whatever....
1) To me, It seems that hunting for Jedi xp is kinda lame, It also doesnt seem to be in the nature of a JEdi(maybe Sith) to kill a ton of creatures at a lair. Also, Its just freakin boring. Maybe we could do faction based missions kinda like in JTLS to progress. It may take longer to reach Knight but It could be more interesting than killing Voritors, Quenkars, etc...
2)Master/Padawan or Master/Apprentice should be implemented definately
3) I would be OK with Vis the way it is if my other group members could help fight when Im attacked. I dont think that anyone in Star Wars or RL would just stand there unless they were asked not to help. (Obiwan vs Grevious, Grevious "Hes Mine") or something.
If this doesnt ever happen then VIS should change. There isnt any real good way for the Padawans to progressThe idea of BH hunting Jedi and not smugglers is odd to me,..
4) Light Side vs Darkside and Rebelion vs The Empire seems to be the same to me but Im opening to anything better than the current system
5) Force Powers should be redone and LS should be stronger
6) Change xp loss for sure, I also like the Blue Glowy Idea. Im open to Permadeath if it wouldnt take so long to LvL. Some of us cant play8-12-16 hrs a day.
7) Definately agree with above post about "No other Profession should compare to Jedi" The above poster Kinda excluded MBH to this idea but I feel that MBH shouldnt be as powerful. It doesnt go with any of the content. All the BHs in films have burned out pretty fast. Most of the time, Sith and Jedi were responsible for each others deaths(sans Batallion of Clone troopers vs 1 Jedi) And no Im not a freakin elitist who just wants to kill everyone else, I dont even really care for PvP that much
8) Now with the completion of the films, Maybe its time to think about a timeline change or give people options of playing servers central to an era. I kinda of like the idea of moving on past ROTJ, But I could see it being cool during The Clone Wars or even KOTOR. Time just shouldnt freeze here forever.
Chetly
1) exelent idea, jedi progression should deffinatly be mission based, somthing like JTL is a good idea, with time delays such as they have in the village quests.
2) i like this idea, however it should not be a necessity, i think the progressing jedi should choose wether he or she should have a master, or progress on thier own.
3) visability and bounty hunters needs a complete overhaul, i think, either a new bounty hunter system should be put inplace, like the jedi system, or after the padawan is beaten by the bounty hunter, he does not loose exp but he is held in a 'stasis' of progression for a period of time, during this time, he recieves no experience and is unable to learn skills either from his master, or his jedi skill trainer, a visabilty period would have to be set up aswell so as to stop the padawan getting griefed and therefore unable to grind. until the padawan is able to solo a fully templated bh the jedi missions should be soloable.
4) i actually have a neat idea about this, jedi have the option of choosing light or dark or 'grey'if they choose crey, they take themselves out of any pvp options, if they choose dark, then they are attackable by players who are light, however, only players that are within 2 levels of each other are able to attack each other, and they recieve the same penalty as a bh kill (which i mentioned above) this does not mean they are perma overt, it simply means they are attackable by other jedi ONLY and they choose when they want to become light or dark or just stay grey.non jedi skills will not be nessisary as initiate will take up 250 sp as pre patch 9 and jedi within 2 levels of each other are balanced enough that this wouldnt be unfair.
5) all jedi skills would need to be looked at and redone completely, when a padawan reaches a cirtain level, cirtain skills and modifiers will only be open to lightor dark jedi, and it is at this point the padawan chooses which he/she wants to be. much like the old system, but alot more diverse, a jedi will not be alowed to get every skill, and will have to carefully choose his template, lightsabers/healing would be newtral, defender would be split perfectly between all the skills, enhancer would be light and powers dark, (obviously this is not balanced but IFthis system was to go ahead, then the skills would be split up fairly, and you would be able to choose skills that fit ur play style, ranged/melee/tank ect no matter what ur dark/light orientation.)
