Thread: BHs w/ Jetpacks: Take Note
Vehicles
All vehicles, jetpacks and restoration:
- Restoring a disabled vehicle will now require a vehicle restoration kit (formerly "the BARC speeder repair tool").
- The BARC speeder repair tool is now a general-purpose vehicle restoration kit which can be used to restore any disabled vehicle.
- Vehicles can no longer be restored at parking garages without a vehicle restoration kit.
- The Flash speeder may still be restored for 20,000 credits (no change).
- The vehicle restoration kit is now a stackable item.
If anyone has been using their JP for fast travel on dangerous planets now that it is repairable if disabled, take note. It will still be repairable, but instead of paying the 6k at the garage, you'll have to pay several hundred K(or whatever BARC repair kits go for on your server). Just wanted to throw that out there for any whom it may concern(which is quite a few these days from what I've seen on my server)
PS: While the 1st bullet says that future repairs kits will be called "vehicle restoration kits" instead of "BARC repair kits", the 2nd bullet says thatexisting BARC repair kits will be converted(or at least usable) as the new kits. So what that means is if you have some extra $$, you might want to get on the bazaar and find the cheapest BARC repair kits on your server and buy a few in case the prices do wind up going up at all. If they dont, hey, u wont be out much that you cant make back in a few BH missions(I'm currently good for 5 jetpack repairs if the need ever arises, all w/out spending too much money IMO, less than 200k each)

With this in place, demand for the repair kits will increase, thus decreasing their price. They're fairly useless up until this pub (why would you buy one when you can repair it for free at a garage?), so once they start getting more popular, the price will go down.
You should check your theroy of economics chief.

They're so expensive now because there are so few of them. As they increase in number, price decreases. For example, if there was only one +25 Double-Bladed LS Speed CA on a server, that would cost a lot more than if there were 5000 of those CA.
Actually your theorymake a random assumption about the supply changing. Priceschange based on thecorrellation between demand and supply. You are assuming the supply will outgrow the demand if you say that the prices will go down. However, if demand goes up and supply stays the same, the prices will go up. If both supply and demand go up equally, then the prices will remain the same. Since crafters will want to maximize profit, logic would dictate that they make sure that their supply does not outgrow demand, in which case the prices will either remain the same or increase. The only way for prices to go down is for the crafters to flood the market with the products on their own accord, which while making buyers happy, would be a foolish move.

Sorry, you've got it backwards. Demand will outstrip supply (do you feel like mining the asteroid minerals for your own kit?).
The reason they're so pricy now has nothing to do with demand, it has to do with the time it takes to gather the materials "by hand".
