Thread: Force Runners

Fought a Jedi yesterday for about 2 and a half hours. I chased him across three planets and several cities. The only reason he got away is because as a MBH/MCM/Pistoleer 0004 I couldn't stop him enough or debuff him enough to drain his force so he could force run. I got his mind down to about 5-10% a couple of times and he rarely had time to regen, but he seemed to always be able to hit his force run no matter what and leave me in the dust. I tried closing the distance on my Barc and speeder, but he finally got wise and lag showing i'm at 80m got them both destroyed with his saber throw..sheesh. Is there anything to do to stop him from doing this..I thought the force run was like burst run for us. You can't turn it off and on, only wait for it to expire and cool down before you can use it again. I was amazed he ran so much and still had the force to keep going. He finally logged after I almost got him the last time and force ran away. My brother said they can't do that with dizzy or stun on. Can anyone verify this or give advice? I did stopping shot and kd to keep him down for a while, but what good is that if he can just turn it off and on? Maybe I have it wrong. Please advise.
Also, your template choice while good for full template jedi combat. I have seen full templates fall to MCM's before, but only because they chose to stand and fight rather than run. But other than if the jedi CHOSES to stand, the template sucks b/c you have no way to really MAKE them stay, especially if they are hell bent on getting away. Root doesnt last as long as you would need and with only 0,0,0,4 pistoleer you have no snare to attempt to slow them when the root fails/wears off.
Yeah, really isnt any way around statsis. Had a Jedi guardian do that to me repeatly. When he was about to die, statsis, run off and then come back full force and mind. Guess we're lucky we dont really see too much of statsis..
By the way, I dont think bomb droids do anything. I detonated5 or6 of them next to a cloaked AFK Jedi. They all registered as hits, and combat log displayed "xxxwas caught in your droids blast for 1600 damage" but he never died. Even with health crystals, I dont think someone can take that much damage.
LOL! Isn't it funny the second we start saying something about a Jedi they get on their little stool and start blabbing off at the mouth about this and that...and i win buttons and what not.
I asked for advice to stop the guy from running. Yes, he did escape, about 10 times, that's why I chased him across 3 planets and several cities. I was disturbed that he could do it so much to a point that there was literally no drain to his force since he used it so often, but I guess that's what happens when you manage your force well. Good for him. He was doing everything in his power to get away and I was doing everything in my power to catch him. Not a whine, just looking for some creative thinking from my fellow BH's.
Don't give me that B.S. about Jedi grind this and Jedi grind that. Who cares. You want Jedi, grind for it. I know just about every BH here would love to have that extra content and grinding opportunity to move up and have extra skills related just to our profession of BH, but we don't.And we're not 1.5 times better in the end anyway. But there are some really skilled people with really great ideas.
I personally don't want to be a Jedi. That's why I want to hunt them.
the force cost of activating FR2 is around 250 fr3 is 600 or so but then there is no noticable drain whilst its active - so it can stay on indefinantly - however a jedi does next to no damage with FR2 or better on - fr1 however hs no damage reduction but its fairly slow. So the answer is a jedi with 4xxx enhancer can pretty much allways activate fr - if they have xxx2 enhancer too all they have to do is channel once and they get more than enought force to run even if the tank is initially empty.

Jedi can heal while cloaked, and they can use instant stims.

Maybe he was using holocrons to recharge quickly? (New BH - not a respec one either - so please forgive my question if it seems a bit naive) Not sure how often you can use them but if he couldn't recharge naturally the Jedi may have felt the cost of not losing the XP outweighed the expense of using several holocrons.
A Jedi can use one holocron every 24 hours, it fills the Force bar back up to 100%.
The Force regen of a full templated Jedi easily keeps up with the Force drain of Force Run. The only thing that puts a dent in the Jedi's Force bar is every activation of Force Run which might cost up to 300 Force (not 100% sure about this) depending on the version the Jedi has. Jedi can turn Force Run on and off whenever they want, they dont need to wait for timer to run out before they slow down again or before they can start it up again.

A jedi with cloak and stasis is pretty much a jedi with god mode AFAIC. I had absolutely no way of taking out a jedi with these skills. I'd get zapped with stasis which prevents you from doing ANYTHING for 30s. In the meantime they just cloak and sit there and regen. It's ridiculous. If I do manage to get a bunch of shots in and get their health dangerously low they just cloak again. The major problem I see is those skills should be used to escape a fight. But they don't need to go anywhere. They can literally just stand there and mock you. I had one who was running missions out of jabba's palace and he was doing it cloaked the whole time. You can't target them and the seeker probe doesn't update quick enough to keep accurate track on them unless they are standing still. Tried using a bomb droid but they just pop out of cloak long enough to whap it over the head and disable it. IMO, there needs to be a serious force(or other) penalty for using these skills. Perhaps MBH needs a few new tricks to help counter some of these jedi skills.
I have cloak, but not stasis. There doesn't need to be any change for these skills, we spend our skill points to get them to get away. Unfortunately, there will be some who use it to taunt you. You just have to suck it up and move on, like when a bounty hunter sits outside my house spamming profanity, and yes, it's happened, I just log on a different character. Accept the fact that being Jedi does not necessarily mean we should have to fight you.

OMG ! You used bomb droids on a CLOAKED Jedi ????? If you're dumb enough to post that here you deserve your ban. And last time I checked exploiting around cloak is a bannable offense. /dropmisson /move on
Well, he could have just dropped the droid next to the waypoint his seeker gave him and detonate it...

It´s bannable to try to attack/hurt a cloaked jedi on whom you have a mission to kill??? How´s that?
