Pre pub 24 i was never killed by an npc mark (successfully made 3 sets fo bh armor). But after pub 24 i haven't had much problems with the elite marks but the boss marks seem close to unstopable. I fought my first on corellia and died after about 20min and only taking half of his health 33k HAM. I then asked a friend and some random person to heal me this time and my luck didn't change much except that i didn't die the next time round i gave up on it when my power up expired and food ran out. BTW the powerup was put on the gun freshly right before my second time round to give you the idea how freaking long a fight with this type of mark can be. Today i had 2 more of these and again had 2 medics healing me. I didn't die but again powerup failed and the damage reversed itself and it was outhealing my damage. So i used a friends 700 dps carb and it was no different so i am wondering am i just really bad at this or is this a problem for other people? Because i don't think that your average MBH can handle this new breed of mark cuz i know i can't.

Thanks, Kobrafett

Kobra dont feal bad its readily apparant by these marks that either certain templates are obviously way overpowered while others are way underpowered. I am a MBH/MCH/CM 4000 a advanced tank and my damage output cant come close to denying these marks their super regen bonus. Plus I gather they get to horde all the good stuff. Do not get discouraged the guys with non broken templates are just going to taunt you and behave like children.

Note though all of them say they are wearing 8k energy resist armor and eat about 10 different foods and use two crystals before they even take a swing at these marks. In other words they blow about 60k worth of material just to fight a 30000 credit mark, and when you add in armor decay more like 2 to 3 hundred thousand.

In a nutshell I think its a sign that pistoleers need to be nerfed lol. As far as I can tell for me to make headway my pets damage output would need to quadruple.

Save yourself some grief and cancel your accounts otherwise you are from this moment on required to change your template to one that does insane damage.

Yes I fought a Boss mark on Dat with my droid for over 30 minutes. He did little damage to me but I only got him dowm to like 25% health. He was like 30k health. I gave up ran out of stims and no action left. Had no prblem with a 20k elite earlier.

Same thing been happening to me all night. Normaly I play the game for an hour here half an hour there. maybe 3 hours a week. I just cant justify paying for this game if its gonna Take me 20 min to fight a mark and get myself DB'd.

I'm a MBH/master rifles/4000CM. I thought what the heck is wrong with me that I cant take out a boss mark, and I tryed over and over i managed to get him down to 1/3 health. then its DB time for me again. try again. and again. IMHO this is a worse blunder than JEDI or that patch that messed up creatures armor back in the fall of 2003.

GG SONY. another winner.

Nobody taunted him and asking for a nerf to professions because you're struggling is childish. Some people have come across marks that have a bugged regen...others have not. I killed 3 boss marks today and 1 last night. I'm not taunting the ones that got beat, I'm stating that I did not have that issue of insane regen. With your template, your pets are the tanks...not you. You only have the label of advanced tank because of the MBH tag. You have to rely on the petsto keep mobs off of you so you can survive. Your damage output with ANY weaponis going to be lower than those that have another ranged or melee mastery...that's not hard to understand. I didn't use any buffing crystals, only ate 3 foods and a booster blue. My armor is assault with 7k resists to kinetic and 5k to energy. I use a psg to even it out at 7k each. Only adk i own is on my gun, which is a heavy lightning rifle that cost me 55k credits because i supplied the enhanced power cells.

And to tell someone to cancel their accounts or regrind a different template to compete is bull$hit. He had a bugged mark...simple as that. For someone that's been around as long as you have to say stupid $hit like that, it makes me wonder if you EVER knew how to play the game.

Have a nice day.

I have run over 30 missions since Pub 24 with standard and elite NPCs and only once did I worry. On that one, I got KD'ed and it took forever to get back up.

No deaths, and all marks killed and looted.

The key is to beat the NPCs regen, thats easy if you combine the following:

1. Use a combat droid. Its damage alone will negate the mobs regen
2. Use Torso Shot, the bleed will get you ahead of the mobs regen rate
3. Use a FAST weapon (my E11MkII is rated at .93 speed for me)
3a. Make sure you have really good accuracy. (My E11MkII Carbine also has a builtin +52 Accuracy bonus) Otherwise use a Accuracy PuP

The big problem I see here is with people seing +MISS+ a lot. Riflemen will be at a disadvantage since they cannot use their most damaging shots w/o being prone or concealed, and Heatshot is terribly inaccurate. Use accuracy PuPs

The other big problem I see is peoples armor/food combos arent up to snuff. You need to be treating these marks like they were Jedi. If youmake the same prep you fo for a Jedi, you will win easily against these mobs.

If you expect them to roll over and die with little fuss, then you are in for a harsh suprise. Stuff that can drop really nice CAs & AAs should not be expected to be simple kills. I hink we all got way too pampered with the ease of the mobs.

Look at it this way. LEarn to deal with these mobs well and you are better geared for dealing with Jedi.

Once again we get people crying for nerfs. ITS THE BLASTED NERFS THAT ARE KILLING THIS GAME. Instead of saying, hey they are doing better than me, or this is to hard LETS NERF THE ONES THAT WORK, say LETS FIX THE ONES THAT DONT. As for nerfing pistoleers, i was a pistoleer pre-cu and that was borked to hell, we had one decent special, and even that was pushing it, we held out help for 2 years, with promises of it getting fixed, then the CU was announced and they said just wait for that. AND FINALLY THE MOST BORKED PROFESSION IN THE GAME (other than SL, smuggler, de, tailor, well you get the picture) finally is good, it was finally FIXED with the Cu, and now people want to nerf it. Why not bring everything up to the pistoleers level, then everyone is happy, and the game will live.

Someone once said that the main difference between WoW and SWG is that the develeopers of WoW fix broken proffessions, instead of nerfing those that are two good. Looking at starwars galaxies, that seems very true.

/end rant. Sorry i have had that building up since the cu.

Stick and move, stick and move. Hit them, get a dot going, use a combat droid. Run out of the Line Of Site and heal, jump back in a damage, damage, damage. Just don't draw them too far from their spawn point or they will run back and get a full heal.

Well, I don't use food and I rarely use armor. The only thing I ever do use is doc buffs, but only when there's an afk buffer by the BH terms. I've never had a problem with ANY boss mark, pre or post 24. What's your template and what kind of equipment do you have? Not knowing you're template, all I can suggest is to try and loot some enhanced power cells or enhanced casings with over 175 damage, and get yourself a damage/sac capped weapon crafted, and then speed slice it. My tactic is to use a SAC power-up (bringing my rifle to 56 and my pistol to 42 or so SAC) and spam my high-damage attacks (head shot/critical), making sure to KD every 30 seconds. (I was a MBH/Pistol/CM4000, now I'm MBH/MRifle/CM4000). If you don't have healing in your template, this is a huge problem. CM4000 or Doc4000 is a must for these types of battles (Yes, it would be nice if any template could do it, but that's like saying any template should be able to solo Necrosis. Sometimes you have to build your template around what you want to do in the game).
