I have been a Bounty Hunter for a very long time now, going on two years. I have been slowly working my way thourgh Holos and the village the whole time toying with the notion of being Jedi some day. But now that I have all the XP that I need and am only waiting on the next phase to make the transition I am having second thoughts.
I love the thrill of the hunt and the blood pumping in my ears as I deliver the death blow, but I dont wish to waste all that time and effort moving towards Jedi so I belive I will have the best of both worlds. Using my calculator I have discovered that it is posable to remain a MBH and have exacly enough Skill points to master one full tree of Jedi.
I dont know which tree will be the most benificial, so I am wondering if others have done this and what their results have been. I am very enterested in the Defender Tree seing as how this is the one that is most widely abused by the Jedi and I love the idea of turning it on them, but I an unsure how long it would take to gring a full Jedi tree never going above Novice Saber.
Any thoughts or experiances would be helpful.

Your main problem is not being able to equip armor and use the force at the same time. Thus making deferder xx4x a must if you going to be able to use the force effectively (i.e healing!). However lots of bh's have said that cloak works great with a macro for armor to be equiped rapidly and its the ulitmate hunting toollol. If you are going to invest a lot more into jedi professions I'd probably get healer 4000 (maybe 4040 for sap an shock) and defender 4240 (think you'll have enough though for 4440 if use all remaining sp's available). This would give you jedi healing and damage resistance without having to use armor and good healing.
Alternatively you could master powers and have some cool abilities to hit jedi's with but would effectively be blown away quickly with lack of armor. Enhancer might be a very very very good investment thinking about it to. Stasis for the ulitmate root (supression, and wave also), FR (need i say more) force armor (Low force might limit its use though), have channel and meditate as well.
OVERALL i'd go master enhancer and get the cool stuff to buff yourself up with force armor to and you should do ok in a fight (provided you can channel at the right times etc etc). Yep force enhancer all they way baby!!!!!

well if you would have done it durring the respec it wouldn't of taken too long, but to get a full tree with just novice ls now will be tough. It can be done though if you have a good group to grind with. Your best bet would be not to get a full tree though. I would go for some healer and defender, or if you like stims many go def and get force drain. A bh running around draining you could be nasty...

my brother in bounty hunting,
do not become a jedi they are evil and ignorant creatures that dont even deserve a proper burial after i have gave them a full shock treatment with my llc or blasted them full of holes with my scatter pistol.

Make your second slot a bh and keep working on your jedi. You can have the best of both worlds then, and you can also post exploit threads in each forum too

Is there some new exploit involving Defender that I don't know about? Ordoes simply using the tree as the developers intended constitute abuse?

I loved Bounty Hunter too, it was the only profession out there for me until Jedi came along (which took near a year and a half before I actually unlocked...). So here's what I did... made my alt a BH.
One thing you don't want to do though is become what you hate. I'm not talking about all these people that think just cause someone's a Jedi that they're "The bane of all-existance" or even a BH, those people are players just trying to have fun. I'm talking about don't become the unfair play, think back to when you were a bounty hunter, what made you angry that Jedi did when you hunted them? The House TEF bug/exploit? The Multi-vehicle thing? Whatever it was that made you angry about missing a mark or something about Jedi, don't be the same. At least that's my advice to you.

Oh come off it! Master Defender is over powered and you know it. That is why so many Jedi flock to it because it is "safe". So please dont stand there all indignant.
Thanks for all the advice guys.......I am treading in troubled waters now, but the prospects are tantilizing

You said it was being abused. I want to know the abuse. I'd like for you to explain to me how mastering a discipline constitutes abuse. Many Jedi take it because it's the ONLY SOURCE OF DEFENSE WE GET. I guess picking up MD and RD is abuse then. I suppose armor is an abuse then.

MBH MP & the defense line of SL will make you so much stronger than using a line of defender , epically now that they are making the defense stance godly.
