I mean, if you cover before you approach the jedi, are you invisible to him on the radar or something? and what does conceal shot do for you?

Cover takes you off the radar, nobody can see you, not even Jedi.
Cover breaks if anything gets closer than 20m - you will become visible on the radar.
Cover also breaks if you use an attack except Conceal Shot.
Conceal Shot does not break cover, you can use it on Jedi without uncovering yourself.

If you use cover sucessfully and approach a Jedi you are infact invisible ingame and on the radar. Any creature, vehicle or other player that gets within 20M (I use 30M just to be on the safe side) of you will break the cover.
Conceal shot can be an ok opening attack but I tend to clear out NPCs in my path with it as I apporach a mark.
You can open with one conceal shot then a snipershot then get on your feet because you are in a fight. Hopefully their health is at 50-60% and you can finish them off with a few Underhand Shots, Critical Shots and head shots before they know what's going on.

I have rifles 4400 in my temp for this. Recently took out a knight by shooting through a crowd. He ran around in the crowd looking for the attacker and I conceal shotted him to death. It was completely stupid, he should have legged it long since.
