Hi, tried MBH last night with rifles for the first time in PVE and was impressed, had kept rifles and switches MC for MBH, which has nice specials. However, would carbines be better as a accompaning profession? I always fight PVE and almost always fight solo.

Thanks

I like carbines my self. To me its a lil more "star wars centric", and I really enjoy the new carbines as well. Plus the defenses arent bad, and carbines deal out a medium of dmg. Plus your dps can be pretty nice with the Carbs. On the other hand rifles can push out some nahahahaaasty dmg......

I would say if you solo quite a bit rifle's would be the better choice. As you have the longest range you can combine the Advanced sniper shot, cover and covershot (when they work) with other specials to really take down the target fast with only having to do a minimum of kiting.

By the time the target reaches me they are usually just below 1/2 health and I'm able to take them out quickly as compared to a carbine where they have a much shorter distance to run to get to me.

I've been doing MBH/M Carbines/novice doctor. I've been able to do the PvE thing and survive pretty well in what little PvP happens. Novice doc is nice for the two heals along with stims. Oh, and wound healing is nice for when things go horribly wrong and no doctors can be paged.

Tip to LEC/SOE: Sci-Fi MMO players don't necessarily belong to the same resource pool as fantasy MMO players.

Ok, for solo rifles gets it then, I was just wondering about carbines, especially the proton carbine, and was it worth dropping rifles to get, can't respec forever and I want to avoid a huge regind to get new prof.

Right now I find with stance and advanced headshot, along with a little medic I can take out PVE characters that are my level (73) ok, but not when two jump one. Can carbines handle two NPC's at once?

Thanks

I went with carbines 0400 for an extra snare and high damage special, can't remember the name as I'm at work.
