Ok, I'm a low level paddy and I've been killed half a dozen times or so by BH's (not here to whine, I like being hunted, it's a cool experience) and I've got a question...
None of the BH's who have killed me have DB'd me. They've all triple incapped me. I always /tell them to ask why they don't just DB me, and finally one answered. He told me that the last jedi he tried to kill had recovered from incap as he was coming in to DB, and the jedi KD'd him and killed him. He explained that triple incap was to avoid EVER getting in melee range.
So, my question is this. Are jedi, even low level ones, really that feared? Is this a respec BH thing, or is it the general consensus that guaranteed first strike (usually root) isn't enough? I've talked with other jedi and I've heard that more experienced BH's will actually make a fight out of it, not just a slaughter. I'm cl 66, but I think I'd have had a chance if I could have moved (stayed rooted the whole time, couldn't heal fast enough). I don't know that I'd have won, but that would have been ok. Being hunted, for me, is a cool experience, but when I just stand there and get shot, it kinda takes the excitement away. Also, for you non-respec BH's, do you not hunt jedi at all? Because I've seen few "old school" BH's hunting the low level paddies.
I figure I'll get flamed for posting this, but I'm hoping there are a few BH's out there that will give me an idea of why you play a BH and how. I've never tried your profession.

I usually DB if I can, but alot of the time the incap timers are very short and don't allow me to DB in time. I have to keep incapping them, and eventually results in a triple-incap.

Feared no, respected possibly. But either way they are just playing it safe. I have had a jedi KD as well and just not gotten the DB in time cause of the timer. The 3 incap is just to play it safe.

This is a problem, especially for MRMs like me. If I am 64m out when I incap, you will probebly get on your feet before I even reach you. So yes I triple incap, not to grief but because I simply have no choice when I see you scrambling to your feet and still have 12m to go.

i once had a fight where i capped the jedi 4 times before he finally got away. I kept going to db and he'd stand up while it was charging up and heal before i could attack agian. Best thing for a bh to do is incap once, run towards spamming attacks, get a second incap and db if close enough, or just keep attacking for 3 times.

With the stupid DB timer now it is difficult to DB unless you are standing right over the Jedi when he incaps. They really need to get rid of that timer...

I tried the triple incap method as well and they just heal the second they get up just as with a normal incap recovery.. when I know they are getting weak I just run right up to them because they don't do much more than 300 damage anyway.

Hey, thanx for all the responses (and not a single flame!). I'd completely forgotten about the DB timer. It makes perfect sense with the ranged attacks most BH's use and the timer problem. Thanx again for the replies.

People have explained about the triple incap you also asked if low lvl padawan's are really feared. HTey are more feared actually than a100k or so jedi mission. THis is cause most low lvl padawans still have most of their template, there are pletny of stories onteh boards here of some MB goign after a 35k-40k missiona dn the padawan whipping out a rifle and killing the MBH. The easiest range of jedi missions to do are the ones between 75-150k cause they have enough jedi points to not have much elite template stuff from nromal professions but not enough jedi poitns to be any real threat. As far as who the old school BH go after I cannot talk for everyone but I personnally don't hunt anything that is under 100k, cause it just isn't worth the time for me.

I'll see your two words and raise it to three:
Advanced Laser Rifle
Get one. Use one. If you get rooted, grab the rifle and use the default attack. You'll suck with it, but really, anything is better than nothing. Also, it uses no force. And no force means more healing. And more healing means a better chance to win. And since you're wee one, you probably have some ranged skills you can put to good use. I win a lot of BH fights simply because I know my saber is useless and don't try. And I won't try until I can turn on at least 45% saber block. Ranged for the win my friend. Ranged for the win.
