Hey I just picked up Galaxies like a week ago and I instantly knew i wanted to be a BH. Right now I have filled out Ranged Support and Exploration so im working on the BH box itself. Up to this point I have been experimenting with ranged weapons but as a wookie I think it would be cool to use a big 2 handed weapon. I get the feeling from reading these boards that the trick with Jedi is to keep them far away and when they get within melee range they just own you. Is this true?

I dont understand why they couldn't make the BH profession benefitial to melee and ranged so we could choose one or the other, personally, Im just not a ranged kinda guy I love melee, but I am forced to waste a ton of sp to play a template close to what I want. I know this has come up before, just wanted to rehash it.

Well, Bounty Hunters in Star Wars are typically people who use guns.

Also, having melee skills in BH would be a waste to most people, and would probably cause more people to dabble in other professions i guess... it would make Master BH less desirable, possibly useless.

But there's still nothing stopping you to be a melee BH, if that's what you really want to be.

Thinking about it, you can get the Invesigation tree in BH, master 1 melee profession, and have 3 trees in another melee profession. Doesn't sound so bad...

(sorry to post so many times lol)

Maybe the devs should make a Brawler tree as a BH pre-requisite instead of the Scout tree... that could work.

Yea BH is ment to be ranged, in the SW universe...if you chased after a jedi with a pike youd get ur ass cut down so fast you wouldnt know what hit you

I am proposing something that would prevent this, like a pre-requisite for BH be ranged support in marksmen OR unarmed in brawler, still require scout, but once in BH either have melee BH and ranged BH professions OR make one BH have specials and mods that work for both. Something like what is currently LLC III gives you torsoshot, which is useful to ranged AND melee. If you take the "shot" out of all of them they are moves that could work for melee and where you get ranged speed and accuracy this gives youmelee speed and accuracy mods also. I would go for MBH if this was the case.

Where as I dont think CL makes that much difference in PvP I am a CL69 with TKM / BH / CM, also putting the BH pre-requisite in brawler or marksmen would free up 29 sp.

I dont mind the scout pre-requisite, I just wish we didnt have to waste sp on the marksmen profession.

There were BH that used both blasters and melee weapons, TKM according to the origins I have read were known for battling jedi, Bossk is seen holding an LVA in the movies. Besides considering the number of jedi out there, we obviously arent holding true to the "Star Wars Ideal" LOL

I have played Pistols, Rifles, Carbines, Pikemen and TKM, I prefer melee to the point that I am willing to respec to a CL69 toon to stay melee, I also love BH I have been a BH from day one, I will always be a BH. I amjust hoping melee will one day be conidered a viable alternative to combat as a BH.

Melee BH cannot be done very wellin the current system, and I wouldn't expect a change anytime. I've tried it, and now I'm regrinding rifles and CM again. I couldn't even get CL 80.

I know and this saddens me...for the first time I am thinking of just dropping BH and going to a melee stacker template.

I totally agree ... I have been toying with the idea os becomeing a melee BH. But basically it makes me quite ineffective. Personaaly if the devs just made the first line of brawler the requrement instead of scouting and changed nothing else I would do it but that is nearly 30 sp that are waisted not counting he marksman sp's.

The only reason I want to at least try BH is becase I have hitthe jedi forums and found them complaining that no one hunts them at high levels and that is one thing i would be perfectly willing to do even if i die. But i would not even be a challenge to them at this point.

That is what I aspire to do for the most part, I go after anyone who will stand around in any major city looking for PvP. Or just anything above 180k, so far I havent been that succesful, ALTHOUGH I have shown that I can last a long time, even at CL 69 and usually I die because I miss a heal or CoB doesnt stick or some other mistake that I will learn to not miss in the future, I feel confident that I will be able to turn it into a formidable template once I work it out.
