I'm doing BH the old fashioned way, as i created this character even after the token respec. So, I was wondering, what the HECK is the deal with those rebel base turrets???? My friend showed me how to slice imperial bases as a rebel, and he was doing it by himself at lvl 80. I was pretty impressed. But I myself tried to hit up a rebel base, and got DECIMATED by the turret. Pretty much 5 or 6-hit by the damn thing. Can someone please tell me how to get around this turret? and do all rebel bases have such a turret? If so, I really dont know how im going to be able to get in there and slice the darn thing. Anyways, thanks ahead of time!

Turrets have to be removed before you can enter a base. They have a max range of 75m. There are two cybernetic arms that grant bonuses to your weapon range. Have them put on and snipe turrets from 80m. Once the turrets are gone, you can move in and slice the terminal.
There are two snags, however. If it is a combatant base, the NPCs will attack you. Depending on the type of base, these may be level 77-80 elites, or even a 101 non-elite. If it's a PvP base, you have a window of two hours every two days (I think) to slice, as the base is not vulnerable any other time.

If you are working alone, you will find it quicker to do the npc missions for xp. You get 1000 xp per base and nearly 500 xp per npc at inv 2 (which is what you need to slice bases). It is actually quicker to do 2 npc missions than to take out turrets and guards then slice the base (you can only slice each pve base once per 12 hour cycle). Also you will get hands on experience at using your droids. Pre CU bases were a better option because you could just get buffed up by a doc, put on ur 80% Composite and run into base, slice it and run out again without worrying about the turrets or guards pretty much. As you know, since the CU it is not quite that simple anymore.

At inv 2 they are giving around 460 - 480 xp and about 17k credits per mission, depending on mission difficulty.
