Thread: Can we get a walking cover?

I've been reading alot latley about somthing to keep BH off of the rader to jedi, and tanks responded that if you're a rifleman you have cover. The problem this is when I laydown and take cover I'm usualy 150m out or more to ensure the jedi dosent see "cover" in the distance. By the time I avoid all the mobs and get to where my targets last location there already 500m away.

So, as the title says I'm wondering what's the possibility of getting a walking cover. The rules of walking cover could be the same as regular cover except you can move more quickly and efficently.

Just a thought.

Actually, it would be nice if the camo kits that Rangers used could work in the same manner. Kinda make you hidden from view unless exposed.

I've been posting on the Rifleman board for a while now that the Cover ability needs to be improved somewhat so it can be more viable. Ideas like being able to have somehting like a Burst Crawl, and being able to fire differnt shots besides conceal shot, with an increased chance of "blowing your cover". Right now Cover is the only ability Rifleman has that noother non-Jedican do. If every Profession has some version of Cover, then it would be pointless for anyone to have it.

like i said. If Ranger kits worked properly, then that would be the answer to the issue we are having. Camo Kits should do exactly that, provide concealment.

I actually should have posted this in the rifleman forum, being that I am a MR/MBH/CM4000, but why do rifleman need cover in the first place(no offence torifleman)? In all of my pvp exp. even if I cover and conceal shot the opponent knows exactly where i'm at. it's also not very effective aginst creatures or npcs.

The burst crawl is a good idea however. You can eat some parwan, then laydown and cover. But that only gives you about 10 seconds of fast crawling.

I've also read in another thread that rifle crawl speed AAs dont work. Is this true? I just paid a lot of money to get a +12 one and if I wasted that money it's pretty lame.

I think they are working, just not working the way everyone wants them to. A Camo Kit is an extension of the Mask Scent ability in the Scout Tree. It is suppsoed to hidde you from animals, not NPCs.

Do you really want EVERY PROFESSION to have some kind of Cloak? Jedi have it in one DIscipline and very high up. Rifleman have it, but it is limited in effectivness. If every profession had one, then no-one would need it since everyone would be cloaked all the time.

Cover/Cloak should be limited in what professions have it. The Professins that have it should use it as their primary skill, where without being invisible, they are pwned. While hidden they are powerful, and other professions should be able to discover them (but not everyone). I would totally think a Ranger should be able to detect a hidden Rifleman or Jedi, using something like Area Track to reval the position.

If you give invisibility to too many Professions, it lessens the value of the professions that do have it, and that is the same thing as a nerf. If we are going to nerf someone, lets do it to Jedi, not the Rifleman.

Alright then, can my master rifleman get a walking cover?

i think that if you have +100 terrain negotiation you go walking speed whislt prone not sure anymore but at 4xxx scout you have +40 and above 50 you increase speed of moving whilst prone so maybe some terrain negotiation fod is a good substitute atm
