as of yesterday my alt finally gathered enough resources to build a fully functional bomb droid.. The first bomb droid was an r3 unit and I tested out on..none other than my DE alt in a duel...she was a level 7 and I was a level 71.. after alt tabing between the two i sent my droid in and set it to blow...a sad 65X on her. Then went out and made a few test ones using advanced mouse droids..did some tests again at a player city with a friend..he was afraid of the droid so he said use it again his pet so i blew up his brakeset (sp?) for 16XX of damage!...after the annoying tells/slap from one of the town's citizens for accidently killing a crazed durani(sp?) that just happened to get within the blast radius(man some people have issues), i left to do more field test... I blew an NPC naboo officer in theed, for about the same damage and figured i need to try this on a live jedi. So I took a mission and found the mark on dath... for a moment I thought to myself, abort it as I will have little sucess in getting this one because of the hills and argos all over the place and little chance of sneak attack..but then I said well lets see.

Once I landed on dath, I waited at the star port , sent the droid out to evaluate the situation. Then i decided to wait it out. I took out the droid (Advanced mouse droid) and had it sit next to the starship terminal. the seekers were reporting that the mark was heading back to the star port. I moved aside to find a good cover spot but there were a number of players around so i couldn't cloak..anyways the seeker updated and bam the waypoint reported just outside the star port. Just as expected he ran inside the star port terminal area. I hit my detonate macro on the droid, ran quickly inside, used kd on him, giving the droid enough time to go BOOM on him for 1206 points of damage and the droid was about 2m from him. We faught it out for a few but in the end he got me.

He told me nice tactic with the bomb droid as I was the first one to hit him with such a suprise move. I knew i was going to loose but I wanted the combat data.

The bomb droids my alt are making have a detonation power of 36 with a 10 pt HAM. Do you guys have any suggestions on improving the bomb droid's efficancy to make them hurt more? and have you had any luck using them again your marks?

Cloaked Jedi HATE bomb droids. I had a cloaker lead me all over a player city until I pulled out a bomb droid. After I detonated it, he ran into his house and logged out. It didn't throw him into combat though...I suppose that's as intended.

ok i just built a 47 detonation power advanced r3 droid. I took it out on a mark on lok, told it to follow the mark , activated the macro , timer started, i knocked the mark down but then the droid attacked him and he killed it before it blew! why did this droid attack him instead of blowing up? the combat logs shows my droid hit him for 1 pt of damage while he hit it for over 4xx!!! bah..what happened?!? are r3's suppose to attack?

luckly i salvaged my droid so i can try this again.
