Thread: BEST BOUNTY HUNTING STORY PLEASE READ inlcudes target offline work around!

I have a feeling that even jedi reading this will think it is a pretty good story.
I logged today headed to the terminal got the dreaded "target not online " about 5 times going back and forth between the informant and the droids and the term.
Ithen parked the speeder in front of the term and picked up missions, I would launch the arkyd right there (before informant) and it would tell me "target not online etc" finally after about 8 tries it tells me "need bio sig" (well guys that is one way to get around the bug BTW...more on that in a bit..)
I then go to informant, get to droid launch point and guess what? "target not online" I sit there and spam callign the droid, after about 10 tries I get the incoming droid (whoppe!) it says he is in space in corelia. I go back to the starport and launch seeker after seeker after seeker hoping he would land. After about 45 minutes I go back and launch arkyd...this time it tells me he is ins pace on kashykk.
I head out to kashykk space and as I am in space I get the orange arrow point to the mark WOW! never done this before, it is an empty spot in space..I figure his ship was just there or something, I launch a seeker right form the ship itself...VIOLA, he is sitting in a y-wing talking to a freind (I guessed at the time, they were not movingl). I had to think of something quickly. I go and ram him and start shooting them up (I know it would do nothing by the way) after about 30 seconds his friend is pissed off and tells me saying"cut it out you noob or something...." this was perfect. I wait about 30 seconds and tell him back saying"dude my bad it was my 6 year old kid messing with it, how embarassing sorry man real sorry..." he answers back with a "rotfl its ok dude my buddy is afk and i am just sitting here". I then tell him I am new ot the game and dont even know how to land on kashykk. I ask him if he could help me. I also ask him if he is going to the starport anytime soon and he says yes! we'll be there in a minute after he finshes the mission (excellent!)
I go down to the starport, eat get buffed, pull big ugly pet, warm up the laser rifle , hum to myself, get nervous etc. after about 10 minutes he loads in, I target him but I do not shoot, I am going to wait until he moves , he starts to walk and BLAMO, I am fighting an expereinced jedi on bounty hunter terms, he just gets back from space, no buff, no food, I surprised the hell out of him. KD does not work but makes him dizzy (never seen that before), torso, crit, torso, crit, he pulls saber, pet is in the way, I run the other direction, stopping shot, torso crit, torso crit, torso crit, I see out of the corner of my eye a jedi freind fo mine, we go way back to launch, I see a another BH ...wow this is so cool..WITNESSES that are friends! well I pound him a bit longer and ....he goes corpse...yes the infamous exploit (the guy swore to me for a half hour he did not exploit...).
I still got him and got screenshots to prove it. As soon as ithappens I get pissed and mouth off that he is cheating, the jedi's at the starport start with the usual (let's fight, you suck, you dont fight fair, let's duel, I pray you pull me next time ...etc..etc..) I get accused of camping the corpse, i get into an argument wiht his freinds, with him , he denies cheating blah, blah, blah, to make a long story short, one Jedi that was there ended up talking to me for a while and he turned out to becool as he!! his name starts with a T.
My buddywho is a knight tells me the guy was cheating (he saw the entire thing live, we laughed about that for abit). anyway I have decided to enjoy the hunt and not get bothered about being gipped again.I dont care if it is an exploit or a bug anymore, this story wasSOOOOOOOOOOmuch fun and it will keep me playing the game forever (or at least until the next pub LOL)
BTW both he and his friend ended up being real cool guys.....in other words they eneded up being real good sports about it

Are you sure he didn't log in while you were spamming?
If you can duplicate your results, this might prove useful (depending on how many re-calls it requires)

well he is suppose to be online when I pull the missions but he was in space when i located him (if you read carefully) so no he was not just logging in, unless you just lg into space (not possible). I might be willign to bet it could be a space bug...maybe..

We're not sure at this point if Jedi are online when you pull the mission, or if the missions stay on the terms after they've logged.
Even before Publish 20 droids were occasionally reporting "not online" while the target was in space. Re-sending droids might be a way around that particularbug, I don't know.But if bounties stay on the terms after they log, there isn't a client-side fix for that.

You lied, Jump a guy fully buffed with Pet out, Load kill, accuse him of cheating, get in fights with other people standing around there, Stand around verbally abuse each other,
Ya this is "real" healthy for the community...
Frankly its amazing that SOE could sanction thisplayer on playergriefing,...

Nails, you must have read a different story then me. I saw were he waited til the jedi moved then nailed him. And all of the hurrassment and aggressivetalk came from the poor,tortured, mistreated jedi. Read what ya want.......
Good story Mawl and having friends see it makes it even better. Something to laugh about in the months to come as SOE coddles the poor Jedi.
(On a side note I go Initiate within a week and cant wait to get ganked exping with friends, not sleeping while my character levels for free on Kash.)

There is a macro or string of keys that allows a KDed Jedi to self-kill almost instantly. Thus getting a free ride to the cloner with no debt or payout to the BH that knocked him down. It's the little yellow bus for Jedi.

How typical, accusing this guy of griefing, lying, and then on top of that accused the jedi of cheating. Maybe you should re read his post.
He, the bh, didn't do anything wrong; yet, you are supporting folks who cheat (jedi who cropse themselves): And, you say, " Ya this is 'real' healthy for the community...."
Talking about being one sided.

Huh? Lying and laying in wait is part of what we do. Misdirection and being sneaky is what we've got. You play a jedi, you can be a "Knight." Be chivalrous, have a code of honor. I am playinga scoundrel who will use these things to his advantage. If you don't like it, Sony gave you an alt when you became a jedi.

Nails also missed the part (his reading skills seem weak) about everyone being cool with each ohter in the end when we all cooled down .....

Nails, you are wrong wrong wrong. This BH used cunning and guile to get his mark. Frankly, his mark should be prepared each and every step of the way. If he gets cought with his pants down, too bad.

Maybe I'll punch your ticket next...but I did promise to kill you last in another post because you are occassionally funny :-)
