Thread: Can someone help an old BH out? Just rejoined and the new combat system has be uber lost

How does the combat system work?
What are ocmbat levels, is there a bar to show progress to next level?
How can I equip my old weapons?
How can I equip the armor I used to have? (Composite)
I am half way to novice Bounty Hunter and find that I cant finish sue to not being able to equip any of my old weapons or armor.
The highest I am in anything else is novice pistoleer, based on these new changes which is the best bracket of weapon for pvp and jedi hunting?
ANY and all help would be GREATLY appreciated. Also suggest what skills to use ect...since those are all different, thank you.

Also what's the deal with all the different exp req like elite and standard?
What are they and how do I get them?
thanks, I tried reaidfng the online support but the manual covers NONE of this

Weapons and armor are totally different now.
To find out if you're certified for a weapon...do an examine on it...it will describe what's needed. (in most cases it's simply a character level...like level 50 or so...in other cases it's a skill block...the cert is on the weapon)
Armor is now template specific...to wear composite you have to be either BH/Commando/SL. There is no "best" armor style anymore, as the skins for the armor don't impact the stats. In order to wear armor at all you have to be at least a novice-elite prof...look through the elite prof you're thinking about...and it'll show the type of armor mitigation from that tree. That's the kind of armor you can wear. (i.e., Recon, Battle, Assault)

The other thing...all ranged specials you have are usable with all ranged weapons you're certified to use...so be creative. (Advanced Critical with a Plasma Flamethrower is fun)

To equip your weapons first take a look at them (examine them). There are two requirements you need to be aware of. Some weapons will have a specific skill box needed (ex. lightning cannon require bh skill, i think either rifle 4 in bh line or mbh). The other requirment is your character level (cl). Some times you can use a really decent weapon without any specific skills...(ex. laser rifles are sweet now and have no skill req). Since you are only a nov in two profs i'm guessing you're cl is pretty low so you wont have the cl for many weapons or the skills. Look into getting a laser rifle.
Examine your armor to see what it is classified as. I think comp is considered assault armor...someone else can confirm/refute this. It's either assault or recon. Anyway, to wear recon armor you're going to need to go up in your elite weapon prof (nov pistol). Check the skill tree for "recon armor mitigation". That improves your "ability" to wear it. To wear assault armor you need to advance in BH. Likewise check your skill trees.
