I used Composite armor as I grinded up to MBH, but then switched over to recon (Ubese and then Scout Trooper) after I started hunting Jedi. I was curious if the type of armor you use really matters that much against a Jedi. I know that recon gives the higher energy resist against a lightsaber, but as BH we get mitigation against assault armor. Any thoughts on if it really matters?

Lightsabers do Energy damage. So your best bet is Battle or Recon against Jedi. You can get battle armor to be just about as good as Recon in terms of energy, and when you get that high anyway, the bonus become so small it doesn't matter. Shoot for 7000 resist in energy on a Battle or Recon suit, anything higher wastes money (unless you want to pay a lot more for a little increase in protection.)

Assault is mostly kinetic, so it will be weak vs. Jedi.
