OK, here's something you're going to need to learn to be an effective BH.
When someone asks you if you're hunting a Jedi, the proper response is "NO". Always. Even if you're in the middle of fighting him, you deny it until the end!

One of the other Jedi that was following me around with his LS out, using all kinds of force buffs or something, gave me 3 pointers...
"1. Never ride the shuttle into the town where your mark is.
2. Don't drive in either.
3. Take MY mission."
I am not so sure about #3.... hehe.
Hey, I am not a bad guy. I am playing a game. Bounty Hunting is what BH do. If it wasn't intended to happen, it wouldn't be included. I play the part as a mild RP. I am not adverse to making a deal with the target, and you won't hear me complaining when they wax me because I am new or not powerful enough. It just amazes me how some poeple are so SERIOUS about this particular form of entertainment.
Anyway, thx for the opinions and advice.

the bh master badge isa goddamn curse.
anytime i try to group with, talk with, or just pass by jedi i get duel requests, shut out, or nasty tells. i am continually harassed and discriminated against by rebel jedi when i just stand there. sure they have a right to be suspicious, but i find it obnoxious to ask if i can join a dant hunting group 10 times and get no response (and the guy is clearly not afk).
what i do is just play nice and stay very calm and collected. that is what pisses them off - if you trash talk back you'll just fuel the fire. try lines like 'I'm sorry you feel that way,' 'I didn't mean to make you angry,' and my favorite, 'It's justa game.'

Yeah. I won't take it personally.
I guess I need to look at it this way...Being hated because I am a Bounty Hunter is part of the job, just like being Hunted because you are a Jedi is part of the job.

Yep. I bought some droids, got me some food, and grabbed a mission with a buddy of mine. (we both bought the game with the intent of becoming BH together.) I launched a Probe and after figuring out how to use it, and so on we jumped on our BARCS and went over to check out the WP. There were 2 NPC's there, that was it. So I launched a seeker, it said he was no longer on the planet. Launched another Probe, said he was on Lok. Went to Lok, found the WP and decided to take the shuttle to save time. We get off the shuttle at the WP, again he is nowhere to be seen. We are getting frustrated a bit. So, we are standing around in this Player city deciding whether to keep using up droids or just start with NPC missions when these people from the town start giving us a bad time. Following us around, asking us what the hell we want, etc. I told them plainly I was looking for a Jedi that needed to answer for his crimes. Well, that got us banned from the city services, and chewed out for hunting jedi that were our own faction....I told them I had yet to see the target to know what faction he was and that I wouldn't take an Imp mark. Anyway, is it always like that? I mean, we took a mission that was way too hard for either of us, we weren't tricking anyone or doing anything that was not intended in the game, so why were these guys so pissed at us?

You got off easy.....no duel requests at all? In that situation I usually get 15 or so.
They got pissed because most of them are jedi and the alts of jedi.
When I get banned I always tell them that I dont want to buy their crap anyway.
