i left the game when coh came out mostly because of fustration with the game and secondly out of shock of how coh was so good. i have a TKM and i was wondering what has changed since i quit playing in april. any advice and notes will be helpful since it will be like im starting all over again except i will have a kick ass TKM and not a novice brawler, lol
thx

Are you asking what has changed with TKA's or in the game in general?
For TKA's, not much. There are a lot of them right now as melee professions tend to dominate PvP. At least certain templates do.
Combat Medics don't seem to be as much of a factor since doctors can buff players to give them resists to disease and poison.

Decided to come back and try the CU. So, I hear that melee (I'm MTKA)is quite crap now so I thought of respeccing to BH (If thats possible). I was thinknig of going along the lines of master smuggler and part pistoleer with the template, dunno if thats any good. I just want a main profession like BH that is good solo and in duels, that don't really depend on other people, since I'm a solo player myself. I've read the template focus thread but I dont know which temps are any better than the other, so correct me if I'm gonna spec in a wrong direction here. Or If ya think another profwould suit me more, tell me
Any thoughts appreciated

Hey everyone, I've been playing World of Warcraft and decided tonight that I would give SWG a shot again. I have no interest in my jedi any more, it's actually quite boring. So I respec'd my alt to Master Doctor / Master Combat Medic and threw in Master Medic.
In WoW, priests are a viable option for PvP. After playing this I don't feel Mdoc/MCM/MM is a viable option for PvP.
Anyone else have the same template as me that does PvP? If so, how do you do?

Thank you for the responses
I don't really care about "offense", that is what my jedi is for. Which I will never play again, don't see any point.
Now this brings me to my next question, how desired are MD/MCM's in high-level content, or is that still extinct in SWG?. It doesn't seem like I can heal very fast or for very much. My best heal seems to be an Advanced bacta throw, all the doctor ones seem kind of weak? Am I doing something wrong?
I thought the point of the CU was to encourage grouping and introduce strategy to the game? I was in a group last night and it was all one big DPS party and I wasn't needed at all. So is my role in SWG to sit in my guilds cantina waiting for the next jedi who gets slained asking for a res?
Thank you for any response you guys have, I'm used to the jedi forum where you get flamed for asking any type of question, this is definitely a nice change ;]

The problem is that your survivability is low. I would suggest changing to a master combat profession with either MCM or MD and the 4xxx line of whichever you dont master for a better survivability and still very powerful healing and/or buffing and/or debuffing.

Your offense would be weak sure, but you could certainly be viable in a group. If you like grouping you may enjoy the template.
Something to remember:
1) This is not WoW. In WoW you have only a little variety in templates. A priest in WoW does have some offensive ability. In SWG you have many possibilities. If you want healing along with combat I suggest you try a template along the lines of:
MCM
4/0/0/0 Doc
Master Elite Ranged Profession (Your choice)
If you just came back you should have a respec period. Try various templates and stick with one you enjoy.

The only offense a Jedi has these days the the look people get on their faces when they see a Jedi.
Yes your combat medic will probably do more dmg than your Jedi. Anyway, doctor heals are actually quite good. But as everyone else here agrees, you definitely want another offensive prof in there somewhere.
