Do you have to be a certain faction to become a BH because i've heard ppl say that you have to be a rebel and a imperial or u just dnt join a faction.

Can someone tell me which it is?

BH are really their own faction. If you choose a side you will greatly slow yourself down hunting. A True BH has no faction

As much as I hate to admit it, this seems to be correct. I am currently Imperial, but it just adds to the already frustrating waste of time finding a Jedi that I can hunt since my guild understandably doesnt allow its BH's to hunt Imp Jedi. Since terms dont tell the faction of the mark, you wont know until you findthem or send them a tell to ask (which gives away the advantage of surprise), and a lot of Jedi wont tell you anyway.

Factioning a BH can create some dilemmas. Rebel BH's really shouldnt hunt Rebel Jedi as they have chosen the side that is attempting to resist the Empire and Light Jedi are their allies. For Imperial BH's it's a little less clear. Dark Jedi would be allies except that Lord Vader has issued the order that ALL Jedi are to be hunted down and killed. However, as I stated before, if you are guilded, your guild may not take kindly to you killing their allies and risking breakdowns in those alliances.

There are risks to being non-aligned also. Before I chose to go Imperial, I found that I was understandably banned from every player city in which I hunted a Jedi. This may not sound like much, but having to bike half-way across Lok to return to Nym's because you cant use their shuttleport (though there are ways around this) may change your mind. It also reduces the number of vendors you can use.

you can RP it anyway you like. I'm Imperial, the people on the terminal are criminals, I'm cleaning out the trash, if I'm not "nice" to my marks, too bad, criminals do deserve fair treatment. That, of course doesn't cover exploits. Guilds make it different too, if your guild has rules follow them or leave.
