Thread: If I were an active BH facing Pub 20...

I'd look into the idea of working with some of the fellow BH's on my server and create a member-contributed online database of known Jedi, their last payout, and template (if known).

Then, if you have the luxury you can do this on two computers, you get to the mark, see their name, quickly enter the mark's name and get some data back on their approx strength, powers displayed, etc.

There would be issues of quality control. Maybe a thing like Amazon's customer recommendations where you can report bad data. Maybe set up a username passwording system so that habitual offenders of bad data are eventually excluded from being able to add to reports. And it'd require a flock of BH's to make it worthwhile, but it has to be better than "/gu anybody know anything about Jedi xxxx?".

You'd have to look it up between the time you find the Jedi and the time you attack. That requires stealth. Looks like I'm going back to Rifleman.

Yah, it wouldn't be useful in all situations. Only cases where the Jedi's not paying attention to everyone around them; ie duelling, restocking supplies, getting a refresh on inspiration, etc. Or stealth.

It's not perfect, but hell, it's better than nothing.

I was thinking the same thing last night, having some sort of dossier on known Jedi and their details and sharing this info amongst BHs. A lot of issues to cover to make it viable and reliable, but not a terrible idea.

I still don't get it.

Ok, I observe JediA for 3 days. I learn his ways, his template, his grinding spots, even when he goes AFK to take a dump. I post all of this information, plus his name, on my BH database.

How do I then differentiate between JediA and JediB-Z when I go to scan the terms?

I guess this might help a little bit after I track JediA down later after taking his bounty... but he's just going to stand there and wait for me to come back while I go look up his profile?

You're looking at it the wrong way.

If one BH does it, it wouldn't be too successful.

If 100 BH's do it, it could be damn useful.

Then, when you get to the mark you find out who it is, what their listed capabilities are and base your course of action from there. It'd require a volume of information to be effective.

I think you have a good idea Leatherneck. Maybe even some method to the madness could be discerned once you get all the info like payouts, payout bonus, jedi name, level, etc. The only probelm and what I think some of the posters realize is that once you are close enough to find the name of your mark, unless you are in a crowded area, they will then know who you are. That means the bigger part of surprise is lost. Your idea would also have to be widely used and secure from jedi. If jedi are able to log in, and why couldnt they pose as a BH or have a BH alt, they would be able to see the intelligence collected on them and adjust their style.

Yah, it won't work well for the runnin and gunnin style of BH-ing.

That is a good point about the whole alt BH thing. That's why you need the confidence rating for members posts. Someone who earns a low confidence rating isn't allowed to gather any more intel.

A Jedi COULD use the system to change their styles, but--respec aside Jedi don't change their templates too quickly.

I hear you. I was thinking immersive, but...
