I rencently changed from MBH/MRM/Nsmug because the root breaks on damage to following:
MBH/MRM4xx4pistoleer
I liked the added pistol speed and general ranged speed from 4xxx, and also the xxx4 defenses + stopping shot. However, improved stopping shot is only a 15 sec root. It does not currently break on damage, but it has a lengthy cool down. I'd say close to 30 seconds.
I don't use any of the specials I gained from changing except for torso shot, but this is because I use the rifleman specials in addition to critical hit. I kept rifle and picked up some pistoleer because I have an unsliced 984max dmg scatter that I have a modified DPS of 815is with.
I'm completely satisified with the template for the most part. It allows you to wear assault and recon armor, For instance I have 2 sets of Imperial armor and depending on the opponent I either wear my 8000+ Energy Scout Trooper armor or my 8000+ Kinetic Shock Trooper Armor... it I'm facing a mixed opponent, PvE or just don't want to damage my armor I can always pop on the 6000+ (all stats) comp armor. I'd assume you'd have about the same armor choices there.
