Thread: Template dilemma...

Seeing as how SOE decided to go one step further with ruining the Smuggler profession, I have now decided that I am after all going to use that little respec token. I have narrowed it down to pretty much two templates, however I would love some input from all you Teras Kasi Artists out there! My first idea is to be master teras kasi, master swordsman and the rest in Doc. The other, is to master bounty hunter, master carbineer and the rest in Doc. My only real concerns are that A) I don't want to be stuck with teras kasi if innate armor is bugged/cannot compete with high end kinetic assault armor, and B) I would love to see my damage output go up to a level where it is actually impressing people. Thank you for any input you may have on my template!

depends on your playstyle really...tk/swords/doc is great for tanking, but you won't be able to hunt jedi mind you, and will probably be mostly confined to pve. bh/carbs/doc is nice for bounty hunting because of the kiting, etc but the doc you'd only be able to get novice for...most people would recommend 4000 cm instead of novice doc if ou're doing a bh/carb temp so you get more healing skills. tk armour is pretty nice i thought, hadnt heard any bugs about it, but i havent exactly been listening for any either

Alright, So I have been VERY succesful with MBH / Mrifle / novice doc...but my interests in bounty hunting changed; I changed to MBH / Msmuggler / 0200 med(3000 combat prow)and use a nice pistol,mainly for pve stuff and selling faction.


Some idiot decided to duel me out of nowhere,I wooped his ass...It was fun...I want to start hunting again. I realize now that with Concussion shot (like 45 second daze/root) and Panic shot (another 20 seconds of no attack) I might not even need the medic skills that i thought I would, because I wouldbe able tosupress the jedi enough to allow me to use Stim-D's over and over again if I needed to.


So now I am looking at pistoleer skills. Assuming that I drop my medic tree, I would have 20 points left over; enough for a full branch in Pistoleer. The question is, which branch? Almost all of them look nice.


-I ruled out 0400 because I do not needburst shot or disarming shot, and the other attributes are better in the other branches.

-4000 Looks alright; +20 Pistol speed would be nice along with Warning shot and Improved Body Shot (Critical Shot is really my only damaging shot as it is.)

-0040 provides me with +20 pistol defence, Intimidating shot and improved quickdraw. I hear that a lot of pistol users couple quickdraw with critical shot or another high-damage attack.

-0004 provides me with yet ANOTHER root, +40 melee and ranged defense, and fan shot (don't really need). This tree caught my eye first.


Alright, at first glance I rate 0004 over 4000 over0040 over0400. But before I make any changes to my template, I want to hear some other opinions.

I rencently changed from MBH/MRM/Nsmug because the root breaks on damage to following:


MBH/MRM4xx4pistoleer


I liked the added pistol speed and general ranged speed from 4xxx, and also the xxx4 defenses + stopping shot. However, improved stopping shot is only a 15 sec root. It does not currently break on damage, but it has a lengthy cool down. I'd say close to 30 seconds.


I don't use any of the specials I gained from changing except for torso shot, but this is because I use the rifleman specials in addition to critical hit. I kept rifle and picked up some pistoleer because I have an unsliced 984max dmg scatter that I have a modified DPS of 815is with.


I'm completely satisified with the template for the most part. It allows you to wear assault and recon armor, For instance I have 2 sets of Imperial armor and depending on the opponent I either wear my 8000+ Energy Scout Trooper armor or my 8000+ Kinetic Shock Trooper Armor... it I'm facing a mixed opponent, PvE or just don't want to damage my armor I can always pop on the 6000+ (all stats) comp armor. I'd assume you'd have about the same armor choices there.
