I got a nice kill last night (221k). Caught him with no macros running at Dant MO, did all my CM stuff, and he takes off running.
I considered the fact that he might be loading (I didn't want to load-camp him) so I waited a good 2 minutes after I had loaded in (that's after getting the Arakyd update, and after returning to the starport, and after getting all my pre-fight foods and buffs done). So the guy probably had 5 minutes from the time I got the droid update.
Anyway, he goes down like butter. I figured he was some poor 80k target who had been in a bad group, I almost felt bad for him.
Then I got the 221k payout.
10 seconds AFTER the DB, I get a tell: "I'm adjusting my internet settings. Stop."
I explained that he was already dead.
Well, he let loose with some insults, calling me thingsthat Yoda would never have allowed the Younglings to say.
Turns out he was alt-tabbed out to his desktop, and was playing with his modem settings. Apparently, he felt this was bad enough to report me to a CSR.
Now, he made nice later, after I rezzed him, but I was thinking, "give me an f'n break." The guy knew he was on the terms (I was the 5th BH to come for him that day) and there he was in public, waxing his modem trying to make it go faster.

we all know there are no safe places a jedi can hide to alt tab out and look up some pron while waiting for their buddies to come grind with them.

Its the jedi's fault he died. to cry about it means a noob lol. Only an idiot drops to desktop in a public place to do stuff like that. The fact it was a jedi makes it hysterical. he should have gone into his house and done it or even into space. Nice job on the kill.

I got my first mark last night.
I recieved data from my informant that said Jedi has been seen on Lok near Mount Chalot. As the informant is provinding me with the relevant info "using Aura +500, fr1, 1500 heals, etc..." I gracefully make my way to my home world to recieve my bounty.
As I land on Lok I proceed to the nearest recruiter and update my status with the civil war and update my marks information. I shuttle in about 1k out from the last known location of said criminal and begain to stack my foods (yes, they stack in certain order.)
On may way I recieve instresting information from my informant which leads me to believe "Hmm, this an ambush?" and yet it does not deter me. As I approach within 500m I store vehilces and pop the remainder of the short duration buffs.
I'm making headway up the side of Mount Chalot and there it is...I see the criminals vehilce *bAm!!!* (One less AV-21 will be seen on Lok for at least 30 minutes.) ....there he is!!! As I dropped forceRun1 to use BurstRun it appears my mark may be on the run....wait, he's positionion himself around a lair of Gurk and still hasn't noticed his disabled AV-21.
I jump him hard! Forcewave has a nice surprise benefit and he's unable to move with haste. The armor break catches him off gaurd and he goes into panic when the he goes Blind, becomes Dizzy, and is Stunned! I proceed to deal with the Jedi trash as would any law abiding citizen. He spams his heals and never gets more then 5m from his initial point of contact. (Oh boy, he's sure spaming those heals now!!) **bAm!!!** He's down in less then 15 seconds!
I land the deathblow and make haste. I activate forceFun adn hightale it out of the conflict zone. No one even sees me come or go and I was never cloaked...
....something comes to me as I review my combat log at the nearest shuttle: Hmm...I didn't get paid for my mark. I guess it's time to collect from my informant.
Moral of the story: Your worst nightmares are your best allies.
(fyi: I had been contacted to eliminate a Jedi threat upon Lok. I myself an a Jedi and do not posses any skills relating to Bountyhunter. I had a blast and it kept us laughing for about an hour.)

I don't know what's more funny, that he alt tab'd out at dant mo or that he reported you for killing him.

If I'm on my jedi, and I'm standing in a very public place alt-tabbed, please, please kill me. Just put me out of my misery then and there.

One of the guys in our guild (also my roommate) had this happen a while back (while names were still onthe terms) we were waiting to go on the corvette and he had tasked out to look at the map of the 'vette one last time to get his bearings. I yelled at him that he was getting attacked and by that time it was too late.. he had been knocked down and didn't even have time to do knockdown recovery b/c he was incapped. Luckally I was there to rez him but it was still a PITA.

I too have made the mistake of not paying attention. I had my factory inv window up and covering chat. Also had my sound on TV instead of game. Next thing I know the clone window pops. I havent been hunted so long I got lazy and it serves me right. I didnt once cry about. Of course I didnt congratulate the guy either in fact I never said a word to him, just dusted myself off. Noted the lesson learned and went about my day.
