Thread: Sad state of affairs:p
I swear, this game is becomming nothing but Jedi and BHs(I didnt say is, I said is becomming). Might as well knock the timeline back a few thousand years and we'll have the Mandalorian wars

Well BH and Jedi are the only professions with content. Even the Jedi have bounty hunter alts for the loot. So it's like 30% Jedi 60% bhs 8% other combat toons 2% crafters
BH is the best profession to put with any ranged combat profession if you don't you're gimping yourself.

i agree i dont want to see any jedi or BH ...even though i dont think other professions are taken seriously im really thinking about dropping BH for a while just to have some PvE fun with commando ...only because jedi and BH are so played out ...
but i find it odd that you of all people are complaining about the sillyness with the game's state of affairs .. when in fact youvemade your characters jango fett and obi-wan kenobi ...and you in fact are a jedi and BH ...we should live by example ...

I did not name my characters "Jango Fett" and "Obi-Wan Kenobi". If you know anything about the gameyou'll know thats not possible; all I did was model them. I did my "Jango" character back in the day, before the influx of BHs due to loot, and the mandatory BH armor dress code that is now in effect, so its not like I'm trying to be cool w/ the new trend or anything, I'm doing what I've always done, not changing proffessions like so many respecs to get some good loot. Whats more, I actualy TRY to RP, though its virtualy impossible anymore. I find it hard to comprehend why people want to play an mmoRPG but not even bother w/ RPing. As far as BHs go, people only want the proff for loot anymore, not one bit ofRPing. When it comesto Jedi, they just want to pwn in PvP, forget acting like a Jedi. But my motivations dont even matter, as I wasnt saying people SHOULDNT be Jedi and BHs as you apparently misinterpreted, only laughed at the fact that thats pretty much all there is now.

This is how I set myself apart from all of the BH's out there that 'dress the part,' so to speak. And I wear black/orange padded armor, as my own style..despite me dieing due to the Battle Class, lol.

back that up and just say bh are the only ones with content. soe has made it so that end game toons dont have content. example, lack of frs to even remotly give any jedi some type of content so we are pretty much walking targets for bh. at least the gank situation is under control so that made it a bit easier for newer jedi. at least bh get the excitement to out think their opponents and at least use some stratagy on their kills. Jedi just have to run around with the overhead maps on and an open combat log just to be ready.

Tru. Theonly content for full temp Jedi is mastering the game's dungeons or helping other players on hard quests. Hopefully they'll get some kind of content bone though so they can at least be having fun before they get jumped by a BH

ok first off i fixed it ... i state in my post if you look above .. that you MADE your characters kenobi and jango ...they are clones of them ...and yes you CAN name your characters jango and kenobi i know i have a BH in my guild named boba-fett ..i dont know if its legal but ... people do it ...
but my point is .. the way you have a need to gravitate or "mold" your SWGRP experience as closeas you canto the movies, is the same way people have the need to fufill their desires to be a jedior aBH .. where they just HAVE to have a jedi that is super powerful .. or a low down dirty BH who is super mean and skillfull ... its silly in all respects .. perhaps some people have a way to go before they mature .. but invidualism .. or creative RP'ing and character creation has always been lacking in this game and not because of SOE or the game itself but because of the obsessive .. wanna-be's that dont think creatively ...that just follow what they read in comics or see in movies and try to mimic..and the fact that SOE caters to the wanna-bes makes the problem worse
i play a BH and i RP .. but my BH isnt some all powerful boba fett or jango fett clone .. its a trandoshan who has no connection to the force .. who is down on his luck .. beaten up inside and out ...bruised and scared, albeit battle hardened.. and is fueled byfear transformed to hate.. because he doesnt understand the ways of the force or the way of the jedi ...and fears what he doesnt understand ..... sothat fear fuels his bounty hunting ......perhaps in his travels he'll learn the ways of the force. and change his evil ways ..... but we have yet to find out ....( even my character background is cheesy and unoriginal ... thats why im thinking of totally changing it and just making my trandsoshan a beat up battle hardened commando.. who happens to get lucky in battle heh)
im not telling people how to Rp or play the game ... i just wish it didnt always have to be about "being" jango or boba or kenobi or vader .. or a jedi, ..... that people werent so afraid to RP a character who wasnt all powerful ... or RP a character who wasnt linked to established entities ...i just wish people would contribute their own unique verse to the poetic entity that is the star wars universe .. instead of stealing from it sucking its lifedry till theres nothing left then moving on to the next flavor of the month ..
the jedi and BH problem is one that has surfaced due to the fact that no one is willing to try something different and sacrifice for the better of the STORY ... for the better of the virtual world .. for the better and variety of the community ...
you posted with a touch of disdain or annoyance that you see so many BH with jetpacks and such .. but the truth is ... those people you think are silly and "laugh" at are just in the same mode of thinking as you ..a wanna-be.... you dont hold exclusive rights to being a fan of the BH proffession ..
even though i agree 100% people center on jedi and even BH too much in this game ( and me being a bh makes me a hippocrite too i know)
P.S. im not saying your story isnt a cool one and isnt creative .. i appreciate the fact people like you RP ... you just annoy me by posting things like " sad state of affairs" and point out people who are playing exactly how you are and expect others to refrain from enjoying professions and equipment you do ...
i have posted before how the overpopulation of jedi is silly ... but at the same time i ( having multiple oppertunities and more than enough time to grind jedi) have refused to go jedi, to do my part in keeping variety alive ... the people that have jedi AND bounty hunter characters are the ones that really get on my nerves ....

your going about this ALL wrong .... you people say there are too many BH and too many jedi ... and then ask for jedi to have MORE content? jedi are getting an entire EXPANSION for gods sakes .. the problem is not with jedi or BH content .. people will want to be jedi and BH no matter what .. the problem is that other professions need content... we need to veer people away from choosing jedi and BH and go end game with one of the other proffessions .. lack of variety in classes will kill any mmorpg ... because uniformity is boring ...
