Yes, MBHs still get good loot. They changed it since it wasn't really fair that Novice BHs could get the same loot as Masters. Also, when you do get up to MBH, do not think that just because you haven't gotten good loot in a while that they nerfed it. The loot drops are completely random, and you'll get crap much more often than not. I went for almost a week and half with nothing but crap before I finally started getting some good loot again, so the loot drops have not been nerfed for MBHs.
As for template, I prefer MBH/MCM. You will suffer a bit on speed/accuracy, but you can easily make that up with attachments.I find the CL82 36k HAM boss marks are MUCH easier with MCM (I never use more than half my mind anymore), but I mainly chose MCM because it's hella fun to me. Really, the best template is the one you'll have fun with.
IMHO, if you're gonna be a strictly PvE BH, then go MRM/MBH CM 4000.
If however, you plan of hunting Jedi, or you are in a war guild and need to keep some PvP ability, I'd advise MBM/MCM Pistolier 0004.

I am a MBH/MCM too and I freakin love it. I dabbled in Pistol 0103 for the root and +10 general accuracy. I used to be MBH/MCarbs/CM 4000 and while it was ok and powerful, it doesn't even compare to the power of the MBH/MCM template. It's not even in the same sport. I still can take the 36k ham bosses as easily as I could before...it's just more fun now. ![]()
I'm glad I switched to MCM because it's way more fun. The loot has been a little crappy lately but that's ok because it's better for it to be rare. You will appreciate that great CA/AA when it does drop though.
Also as far as killing jedi, I haven't lost a fight yet and my record is 11-0 (not including 1 full temp that was AFK when I killed him). Of course I'm probably jinxing myself now.
The reason why I went Pistols 0103 is because the only benefit to going Pistols 0004 is the +10 melee and ranged defense, but as I've learned you can NEVER have enough accuracy. Defense caps at 250 from what I understand anyway which is pretty easy to get to with our templates and some AA/CA's. Accuracy has NO cap on it and it's of utmost importance.
Why?
Because if you can't hit the freakin jedi, then what the hell is the point. I have found that if I were to hit atleast 8 out of 10 times ALL the time fighting jedi? Even the master defenders with aura/valor on would die in 5-10 minutes.
The problem is that we miss SO much because drinking pyro only lasts 1 minute so in order to be effective you have to keep drinking it over and over until you are full.
Bottom line: Accuracy > EVERYTHING ELSE when it comes to fighting jedi.

just regrinded mbh, you get simple toolkits at inv1, finely tuned ones at 2,3 & 4. you start to get trando intraframes etc at inv 3 and the CAs and AAs start to kick in at inv 4.
I got a 3 stat CA (max +7), crystal, and bh scheme at inv 3. All from Elites but not all of them were CL80+.
