Thread: MDEF/MLS

Decided that 2 posts made more sense since this is a different question

My template is MBH/MCM/Rifles 4xxx. My Rifle speed is 98 and accuracy is 205. I have rifle tapes that almost add up to +25 speed, and some rifle accuracy tapes + 3 boxes of FS ranged speed. No tapes for defense atm, and I can't remember what my defense is off the top of my head.

I haven't done too many jedi missions but the few I have done I have beaten up pretty good.

That being said, is it possible to take down a good MLS/MDEF with a pre CU saber one on one when both of you are buffed and at full health.

I duel a lot with a friend of mine I did prety well against him with my old template MRifles/MPistols/MMarksman/Carb 0440, all offense no defense, only problem no healing once he caught me.

Now with this template, I can't seem to do enough damage to make a difference, yes I put tyroid rupture, EDrain, Fire, Poision, on him so when I add them all up it ends up being around500 points of damage but

when I shoot him I miss over 50% of the time. He knocks me down every time (do KD avoidance tapes work?). I am taking crispic, accagram, vegisprine to increase my stats and defenses but in the end I just either can't do enough damage to end the fight or I run out of mind.

Any thoughts?

Mdef/mls's are a pain, the only good thing is they dont have force run normally. Personally i would say pistoleer with the better speed and lower SAC are better vs a Mdef/mls plus they get root. Its highly unlikely with mcm that you will ever do enough damage to take him out through sheer force, more likely is you continue to wear him down with hit and run tactics and run his force out.

Yeah that is what I was afraid of. I have so much invested in my rifle and tapes that I hate to give it up. But he was able to still catch up to me when he had the MCM snare on him as rifle incumbrance is ridiculous. Which made it very easy for him to get in range for the annoying saber toss knockdown...

With pistols though doesn't that put you in range for saber toss knockdown all the time as the range is about the same?

Does anyone know if the KD tapes work?

Even with pistols MDEF are so difficult to kill, you normally hit for 150 dmg, which is next to nothing and they block around 50% of your shots, by the time their health is 50% they have normally regened enough force for a heal. Plus most of them have stim D too. The only chance you have is Sticking dots to drop their defense and using PYRO.

I have killed a lot of jedi , but i dont think ive ever managed to kill an MDEF.

With the ranged arms pistol range is 50m rather than the standard 35m. As for the kd tapes, i dont think anything defends against kd anymore.

mdef/mls with post cu saber - a long fight, but not too hard.

Mdef/mls with very good pre cu saber = A very tough fight. Fighting these jedi is hard, you can't make one mistake. Thyroid, hemmorhage and traumatize must be on them at all times otherwise you will die. You should have a 110 rating med droid grouped with you and on follow also plenty of stims and ruby. Keep synthsteak out for emergencies. Oh and luck helps.

I joked with him last night I was going to find his mission and wait until he was tanking grevious and whip him lol.

And to the person who said use ranged arms, good luck, I used to have both arms in the past, painful lesson, you take just about full damage as the arms have almost no armor on them.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

I say you'll do fine with rifles....

Just use your snares to keep him slowed down...that way he'll never catch you. If he burst runs, you burst run...if he gets a little close, use your KD move.

The real key though is remembering to keep him snared.

It's a matter of mind over matter, litterally. I know because I have a MLS/MDef and a MCM/MBH. When I get hunted on my jedi, I always use force sap. I then win be outlasting the BH's mind bar. Same thing when I'm on a MCM/MBH. I apply all my dots and debuff their mind. I spend most of the fight with normal auto-attack saving my action for front loading if they don't heal for a while, and keep the debuffs/dots applied. It's just a matter of surviving the fight long enough, his mind WILL wear out from your constant damage. I have killed countless MDef/MLS's and MCM/MBH's by simply going for the mind

I do try to keep him snared but when running with the rifle in my hand he still seems to be able to close the distance on my. I do have +18 terrain negoation bando on when fighting. When I had the snare from carbs I was able to stay away, but Electrolyte drain doesn't seem to do much.

With your template you need the following:

  • +25 to Melee defenses, rifle defense, rifle accuracy, rifle speed, general ranged speed, general ranged accuracy, bio efficiency, medical warfare effieciency, healing efficiency, KD ( bugged now but maybe will work at some point )

  • a set of 7100 energy resist RIS armor

  • a Heavy lightning rifle with the following stats ( unmodded ) less than 2.45 speed, 470 min - 1150 max damge with 40 elemental and atleast +55 to accuracy and a SAC of 82

  • A SAC pup that doesnt take away any accuracy

  • Vegsparin, air cake, breath of heaven, spiced tea, ruby belial, crispix as your main foods

  • Booster blue as your spice

  • secondary foods that are taken when needed are: synsteak, deutrium pyro and parawan nutricake ( cake for burst running so you can burst run several times without using your /burst )

  • Make sure you buy the best player made poisons, fire, thyroid ruptures, traumatize and so forth. Buy the best player made bacta tosses and sprays. Make sure to use bacta toss when you are getting low on health after you have KD'd the mark cause it has a big animation and you have to have yourself targeted, use the bacta shot and the spray when you are actively fighting and not in any real danger of dying instantly.

This is the basics. You will find when you fight a master defender/master lightsaber they can be tricky but the key to these are to keep them combat speed debuffed, poisoned and on fire ... traumatize does relatively nothing since they dont have to heal that much so its a waste of mind pool.
