It never fails to amaze me at how many people's knowledge of SW only extends to the movies. Boba Fett blasted his way out of the Sarlacc and was saved by a Kuat Princess and Dengar. Read "The Bounty Hunter Wars" to find out all about it......very good series.
Except that George Lucas himself has said that Fett died in the Sarlacc (in the commentary on the recent DVD release of the trilogy). The EU by definition is not canon, and therefore does not supercede the canon materials.

Actually, before all the silly books, in issue #83 (I think) of the Star Wars comic by Topps (I think...I'm too lazy to go dig it out), Boba was burped out of the Sarlacc...hooked up with Han, saved some Jawas from Tuskens or fought Jawas or some such silliness and then ended up falling back into the pit, even though Han was trying to save him.
I kid you not. Go ahead and call bs, I'll go scan it and put it up somewhere. It's pretty stupid and makes no sense whatsoever, but has the same "validity"as the books.
So in other words, I don't care about what some other person's vision of what Star Wars is...even Lucas can't keep it all straight. I mean, first the Force was something flowing through everything and anyone could become attuned to it, then all of the sudden it's a bunch of little bugs...whatever.
And really, I only care what's in the original movies, as Ep's 1,2,3 were a joke. And the books...lol, although I have to say the Ewok kids books from '84 were great...did you know that Wicket followed in Logray's footsteps to become the next Ewok Medicine Man?

The comics aren't canon either.

I've also heard that Lucas didn't realise how popular the Fetts, and indeed Darth Maul, would become and was sorry he killed them off.
Lucas changes his mind on things it seems, he also needs to look as if his decisions are the *right* decisions hence the possible reason for the Boba *did* die in the Sarlacc comment.
The only truly significant comment on the matter is that where EU and canon/film contradict, the films take precedent.
