Thread: My first experience with Investigations II
If you are not too far into Invest. II, drop it. Do the inv I bounties until you top out of your xp. It will make that part of the grind much much easier. And only take the marks that are in or near a city with inv I...it saves so much time.

Wow, what a slap in the face. I don't think I can handle this. I was doing marks with no problem but when I got to Investigations II I seem to be totaly powerless. My first mark was one level above me. I finally figured out how to use the droids and after about 8 seeker droids I finally found my mark. This guy burried me even though he was one level over me. Again I tried and he slaughtered me in a couple of seconds. What's going on here? I have no problems taking on NPC's 5 levels over me whyis this NPCguy tanking me? Is this a factor of this level or what? Or was this NPC lucky enough to have a leagondary weapon?

what CL are you mate?
I'm level 71 and the mark was LVL 72. My armor is isn't that great but I am also TKM and was using Power Boost and Blob Candy and 1100+ stim D's plus pumping Backta shots. I was OWNED!
you get the odd funny one every now and again. i'l just regrinding invest again,at level III now and i ran into a 19k ham silver elite, where most of the others have been about 7k ham.
post CU most of BH's bonuses are in the ranged professions (ranged speed, acc, and def). may well be advisable to go ranged if you wanna hunt marks.
my armour's nothing special, 6.4k energy/kinetic marauder armour, but i do ok. i'd recommend picking up a line in healing too. with the new marks it's all about outlasting them now they have such a big ham, healing and low sac get the job done now rather than uber damage.

I completely agree. I got a mark last night that was gold and he didn't do a huge amount of damage, but I barely touched his Health he had so much of it. Without CM in my template, or some type of healing, I would have not been able to kill him.
or pick up cm, and never worry about a mark again

in general (from my xp) the lower paying missions will be 1 or 2 levels below you. check the mission level before you take it, that's the cl of the mark.
It's been my experience that the Mission Level only dictates the minimum CL the mark will be. In most cases for me, the mark has been 1-3 CLs above the Mission Level.
